  • The Incredible Hulk Coster Appears To Be Under Water At Universal's Islands Of Adventure

    Hurricane Ian sure has dumped a lot of rain on Central Florida on his adventure through the area, and now it appears to have turned The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal Orlando into a water ride! Twitter user lissainbama has shared a picture on Twitter that appears to show The Incredible Hulk Coaster partially under water at Universal's Islands Of Adventure. The tunnel section tracks look to be fully submerged in water, requiring more than a poncho to keep dry on this ride now! We have no official word on this development, let's hope Hulk is ok!

  • SeaWorld Orlando To Remain CLOSED Friday 30th September Due To Hurricane Ian

    Due to Hurricane Ian, SeaWorld Orlando have just announced that SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove parks will all remain closed through Friday, September 30. They also announced that Busch Gardens Bay will also remain closed tomorrow. SeaWorld is currently planning to re-open all parks on Saturday, October 1. 2022. All date-intended tickets for September, 28, 29 and 30 have been extended through December 31. Annual Pass Members’ guest tickets with an expiration date of September 30 and October 2 have been extended through October 16. Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream tickets for September 30 have been extended through October 31 Here is the official statement from SeaWorld Orlando: Due to Hurricane Ian, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Adventure Island, SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove parks will remain closed through Friday, September 30. The parks plan to reopen on Saturday, October 1. Discovery Cove will reschedule or refund reservations booked online or from the call center. We will not apply any cancellation or change fees for this service. For any additional information, call 407-513-4600. If you have a reservation booked through a third-party reseller, we are happy to rebook your visit date, however, if requesting a refund, you will need to work through your reseller partner. Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream tickets for September 30 have been extended through October 31.   • Hurricane Ian Drenched Walt Disney World Resort In Over 12 Inches Of Rain

    Hurricane Ian sure made his presence felt in the Central Florida area before he was downgraded to a tropical storm and he sure dumped rain throughout the area. A report from the National Weather Service here in Florida details just how much rain Walt Disney World received from Hurricane Ian as it passed through the area late last night and today. As we reported earlier, The National Hurricane Center said wind speeds were lower than anticipated at Walt Disney World, however the major storm dumped rain relentlessly as it passed over the resort. The National Weather Service has multiple rainfall reporting stations at Walt Disney World, and one of the stations recorded more than 12″ of rain.   • Universal Orlando Resort Issue A Brief Statement Following Hurricane Ian

    As Tropical Storm Ian continues make his presence felt in Central Florida, this afternoon, Thursday, September 29, 2022, Universal Orlando Resort here in Orlando have followed Walt Disney World Resorts lead and issued a brief statement with an update on Hurricane Ian. The statement made no mention regarding any damage to the Universal Orlando Resorts theme parks, and no indication was made when we might see the parks re-opening. They did however confirm that detailed inspections would be taking place today throughout Universal Orlando Resort. The statement said: Our thoughts go out to all those impacted by Hurricane lan and we stand ready to help our community recover. As always, the safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. With that as our focus, we remain closed today as we follow our procedures and conduct detailed inspections across our entire destination at this time.

  • Kissimmee Attraction Wild Florida Will Remain Closed Friday, Sept. 30 As It Helps Rescue Efforts

    Wild Florida Airboats, Gator Park, and Drive-Thru Safari has announced that it will remain closed and will not now re-open on Friday, September 30 as previously expected. The extended closure of the attraction comes on the back of news that Wild Florida is helping with rescue efforts in Kissimmee, using its airboats and trucks to rescue residents trapped by flood water in the area. The Kissimmee attraction announced the news on its social media pages.

  • More Dining Locations Re-Open For Walt Disney World Hotels Guests, Plus Meal Kits Suspended

    Restaurants have began to reopen today to guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels during Hurricane Ian. Plus, in a sign that hotel guests will not be asked to stay in their rooms, the meal kits that were available to hotel guests yesterday are no longer available. In an updated list of available food options, the list shows that there are more locations closed today, including several hotels that no longer have any operating restaurants. All restaurants are currently closed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Riverside, and Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. Plus, all hotel pool bars will be closed today. Here is the current full list of open and closed dining locations at Walt Disney World hotels.   • Storm Ian: Walt Disney World Largely Spared From High Winds BUT Pounded By Torrential Rain

    The National Weather Service located in Melbourne, Florida, has released a preliminary report this morning showing the highest wind gusts recorded from Hurricane Ian. While yesterday, September 28, forecasts had the major storm tearing a path through Walt Disney World, it appears that the resort has largely been spared from the seriously damaging winds that the area was expecting. The NWS report lists that a Magic Kingdom weather station within Walt Disney World recordiing a maximum wind gust of 45mph at 12:20am this morning, Thursday, September 29. By comparison a weather station at Orlando International Airport recorded a maximum wind gust of 67mph at 7:35am. Although wind speeds may not have been as high as anticipated, relentless rainfall has caused flash floods throughout The Walt Disney World area in Lake Buena Vista. Earlier this morning we reported flooding was causing problems at the Swan & Dolphin hotels. While wind may have been less severe than feared at Walt Disney World, it still caused damage, including damage shared by twitter user @GrainAndSpirit showing damage at Disney's Contemporary hotel on Bay Lake, with exterior damage visible on the main tower building where sections of exterior cladding has been torn off.

    Hurricane Ian arrived overnight into Central Florida, and with the wrath of the storm happening under cover of darkness it is only now that we are beginning to get reports of damage at the area theme parks and resorts from guests staying at resort hotels. Damage is now being reported at Disney's Contemporary hotel on Bay Lake, with exterior damage visible on the main tower building where sections of exterior cladding has been torn off..   • Walt Disney World Releases Statement With An Update On Hurricane Ian

    This morning Thursday, September 29, 2022, Walt Disney World has issued a brief statement with an update on Hurricane Ian. No mention was made regarding any damage to the Walt Disney World theme parks, and no indication was made when we might see the parks re-opening. They did however confirm that today, crews will be assessing the impact of the storm and clearing debris. The statement read: We are thinking of our neighbors across Florida. We will get through this together and will be there to help our cast members and community. As we keep safety in mind, our theme parks and other operating areas remain closed today while crews assess the impact of the storm and clear debris. Thank you to all of our cast members who continue to care for the thousands of guests currently staying at our Disney Resort hotels.

  • Disney Springs WILL Remain Temporarily Closed Today Due To Tropical Storm Ian

    As Tropical Storm Ian continues his fall vacation in Central Florida, Walt Disney World have announced that Disney Springs will not re-open today, September 29th, 2022. While Walt Disney World had previously announced that all four theme parks would be closed yesterday, and today, they had only said that Disney Springs would be closed yesterday, September 28. With Tropical Storm Ian's effects still being experienced today, the decision has been made to keep Disney Springs closed. No official decision has been made whether the Walt Disney World theme parks, or Disney Springs will re-open tomorrow, but they are all currently scheduled to reopen.

  • Walt Disney World Extends Suspension Of New Hotel Reservations Until October 3rd

    As Central Florida continues to experience the effects of Tropical Storm Ian including major flooding, Walt Disney World have once again extended the suspension on new resort hotel reservations. After first suspending new reservations until September 30th, yesterday Disney extended new resort hotel reservations until October 2nd, but once again Disney has pushed that back another day, with new reservations now not available until October 3rd, 2022.

  • MCO Update: Major Flooding Has Closed Roads Around Orlando International Airport

    Orlando International Airport has shared an update this morning, Thursday 29 September, giving an update on the airports status following the overnight arrival of Tropical Storm Ian. The airport have confirmed that commercial operations will not resume today with no scheduled flights happening. All roads leading into Orlando International Airport are closed due to flooding at this time. The roads involved include all major and secondary arteries including Jeff Fuqua Blvd and Heintzelman Blvd, and Bear Rd and Cargo Rd The airport staff will conduct a damage assessment of the entire facility complex to ensure it's safe to resume operations, with flights expected to resume sometime Friday, Thursday 30 September, pending the damage assessment. Travelers are advised to contact their airlines directly for information about their specific flights.
