Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World was always the theme park you could not get any alcohol, that was the way Walt wanted it to be. No alcohol was available at any restaurant or location within the Park until in 2012, Disney began serving alcohol in the new Be Our Guest restaurant. It's still only available at table-service restaurants. Last month the first-ever drinks with liquor were added to Magic Kingdom table-service restaurants, and now two new cocktails have been added to the menu at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Main Street U.S.A. Following the park hours being extended at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for late October, November, and early December, Walt Disney World have also extended the hours for Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom will now be opening an hour earlier, at 8:00 a.m., and close an hour later, at 8:00 p.m., on October 30, November 4 – 14, November 17 – 28, and December 1 – 3. Early entry for hotel guests will now begin at 7:30 a.m. on these days. With park house being increased, it shows that there is no sign of the popularity of Walt Disney World diminishing, even with prices continuing to rise.

As we head into the busiest time of the year for the Orlando theme parks, Walt Disney World have extended the park operating hours for both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for the last few spooky days of October, throughout November, and into early December 2022 also. Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom will now open at 8:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. on October 30 and 31. Early entry for hotel guests will now begin at 7:30 a.m. The park will be closing for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at 6:00 p.m. on both these days. Magic Kingdom will also open an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. on November 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 27, 29, December 1, and 2. The park will still open at 9:00 a.m. on November 4 – 7, 9, 12, 13, 16, 19, 21, 23 – 26, 28, 30, and December 3. However, Magic Kingdom will remain open late for an extra hour until 11:00 p.m. on these days. Extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests on November 16, 23, and 30 will now be from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. EPCOT EPCOT will now open at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. every day (except November 6) from October 30 through November 24. The park will still close at 9:00 p.m as usual.

Gatorland will re-open this weekend on Saturday the 15th of October, just in time for its annual Halloween event after being forced to temporarily close due to severe flooding from Hurricane Ian. Gatorland has been preparing for a big weekend as it officially reopens and welcomes guests to its much loved Gators, Ghosts and Goblins Halloween event. The daytime family-friendly festivities will take place on the weekends, beginning this Saturday, Oct. 15. and run through until the end of October. Gatorland wasn't sure if the annual Halloween event was even going to happen this year after the flood damage caused by Hurricane Ian. The entire attraction was under water, including their haunted house, and pumpkin patch. Thankfully, the amazing team of hardworking Gatorland employees pulled together to get Gatorland and the halloween event ready for opening! This year Gators, Ghosts and Goblins will have lots of spooky activities, including haunt zones, interactive characters including the legendary Swamp Ape, animal meet-and-greets, trick-or-treating and the return of the scarily awesome Swamp Ghost’s Monster Museum. It appears that the controversial re-theme for the beloved Splash Mountain ride at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will be commencing soon. Walt Disney World has now filed a permit with Orange County to begin work on the redevelopment of Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. The permit is for Project CY1899, with an expiration date of June 30 2024. The permit shows that work will be undertaken by Belfour Beatty Construction, a long-time Walt Disney World construction partner. Mostrecently, Belfour Beatty Construction has worked on Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Walt Disney World have already announced that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in late 2024, buts far no date has been announced when Splash Mountain will close to commence the transformation. Splash Mountain usually goes down for annual maintenance in early January each year, and it's rumoured that a January 2023 closure for Splash Mountain should be expected to start the refurbishment into Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

SeaWorld have teased on their Instagram account today, Friday October 14, 2022, that they will be officially announcing their brand new coaster for 2023 on October 18, 2022.! Hopefully we will get details on the dimensions, and the features of the coaster. as well as a name! Here is the video that was shared today on SeaWorld Orlando's Instagram page: Construction is well underway within the park of what will be SeaWorld Orlando's seventh coaster. The surf coaster will feature riders in a standing position, and is being manufacturer by Swiss coaster firm B & M, who have built three other coasters at SeaWorld Orlando: Kraken, Mako and Manta. Back in June SeaWorld Orlando first showed off new video and renderings of the all new coaster. At the time SeaWorld said “Guests are invited to get ready to feel the power of the Pacific right here in Florida, letting the waves propel them into a one-of-a-kind ocean adventure,”

WalletHub has recently ranked Orlando as the second best Foodie City in the entire nation, although to us living here in Orlando it's not really a surprise! The company ranked 182 cities on things like the cost of groceries, affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants, and the presence of food festivals. Orlando only missed the top spot by one other city, Portland in Oregon, and finished ahead of two other Florida cities that were ranked in the top ten, Miami which came in third, and Tampa in eighth place. Among other factors, the City Beautiful ranked at the top for the amount of restaurants it has per capita, as well as its gourmet specialty-food stores per capita. The city also ranked number 1 for ice cream shops and number 2 for coffee shops per capita. Orlando did only rank 101st in affordability, no surprise there then, but it did rank 5th for diversity, accessibility, and quality, according to the report. The WalletHub report also made note of the presence of Michelin-starred restaurants and the average ranking of city restaurants on Yelp’s Top 100 places to eat in the United States. In June, four Orlando-area restaurants earned the region’s first individual Michelin stars. The restaurants are: Capa, Knife and Spoon, Kadence and Soseki. Additionally, multiple restaurants from the area ranked in Yelp’s Top 100 Best Restaurants in Florida, including Selam Ethiopian & Eritrean Cuisine, Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant, Mee Thai Restaurant, Craft & Common, Chicken Fire, and ShouFi MahFi Mediterranean Grill. In total, the state of Florida was represented by 11 cities on the list, including Port St. Lucie and Tallahassee, which ranked 133 and 134, respectively. As of today, the 13th of October, the price of the majority of Minnie Ears has increased from $29.99 to $34.99. This price increase has mainly affected Minnie ears that are the standard, base price, the Loungefly ears and other designer options remain unchanged for now... What's next to receive a price increase? As of today Thursday, 13th of October , this price increase is in the Minnie Ears at Walt Disney World, , however, it doesn’t seem to have changed the price for Minnie Ears for sale online at shopDisney. Right now, many ears (besides designer ears) are still showing the $29.99 price tag there.
