Saturday, January 14 & Sunday, January 15, 2023

Artists

Eric Jacobsen, conductor

Yuja Wang, piano

Program

DebussyPrelude to The Afternoon of a Faun

RachmaninoffPiano Concerto No. 1 (January 14)

RachmaninoffPiano Concerto No. 2 (January 14)

RachmaninoffPiano Concerto No. 3 (January 15)

RachmaninoffPiano Concerto No. 4 (January 15)

During her upcoming concerts with Eric Jacobsen and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, piano superstar Yuja Wang will be performing all four Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos.

Performances of all four of Rachmaninoff’s challenging concertos in one weekend – including the fiendishly difficult 3rd – are exceptionally rare.

The only other place Yuja will perform this feat will be at Carnegie Hall with the Philadelphia Orchestra, just two weeks after her concerts in Steinmetz Hall, Orlando.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for music fans. Yuja’s U.S. appearances in early 2023 are limited to the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Plus, both concert dates include Debussy’s iconic (and notorious) masterpiece, from sinuous flute introduction to final languorous bars…erotic reveries in all their voluptuous, ephemeral beauty.
