Carisa Hendrix is a respected magician and variety artist who brings magic, mischief, and mayhem to the stage with their highly reviewed semi-improvised performances.

This larger-than-life performer has earned accolades for their delightful comedic flair and amazing magical stunts. Well-loved in the world of variety arts, Hendrix has won countless different awards and thrilled audiences worldwide.

Lucy Darling is Hendrix's most recognizable creation. Born at the Melbourne Magic Festival in 2017, Lucy is a charming vintage Hollywood socialiate known for her impeccable wit, playful mischief, and exceptionally good hair.

As Lucy Darling, Hendrix has toured the world, delighting audiences of all sizes --- but in December of 2024, everything changed when a clip from a recent show went viral on TikTok, amassing millions of views.

Soon, Lucy became an internet sensation across several social media platforms: the Lucy Family Tree is now made up of more than 4 million followers. In 2025 alone, more than 50,000 people attended live Lucy Darling performances, many of which were completely sold out.

Even before Lucy emerged on the scene, Hendrix was already well established in the world of magic, circus, and variety arts. They have been featured in the Guinness Book of World Records (2014 Book, Page 86), Ripley's Believe it or Not!, and a SuperChannel documentary Carisa Hendrix: Girl on Fire which follows their trials and tribulations of creating a new magic and illusion show on the Las Vegas strip.

Growing up in Calgary as a young child, Hendrix was an avid youth volunteer, where they met the actors, magicians, and circus performers who would help to shape their early career. At 16, Hendrix's interest in the carnival sideshow was sparked by a chance encounter with an elderly performer and the misguided support of a high school chum. After only a few months of training, they began doing small shows, and despite the unpolished quality, the bookings kept coming in.

After high school, Hendrix worked as a children's educator & program director at not-for-profit organizations, but it was too late; their love for performing was apparent. As rewarding as teaching was, the shiny allure of the stage was just too enticing.

Hendrix has found new ways to incorporate their passion for teaching, such as running the junior program at the annual Vanishing Inc. convention, MagiFest.

Hendrix was fortunate to work alongside a massive roster of talented artists and entertainers early in their career. These individuals provided encouragement, vital knowledge, and support, opening Hendrix's eyes to various performing styles and keeping them thoroughly humbled for many years. Hendrix has always been an avid learner and studied acting, dance, comedy, circus, prop manipulation, vaudeville, burlesque, modeling, and magic.

After being accepted to the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2007, they studied visual and performance art, graphic design, and video. This diverse, somewhat haphazard education culminated in the signature style Hendrix is known for.
