Runners Put Their Soul Into This Morning's Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon At Walt Disney World

Earlier this morning the highlight of this weekend Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend took place, with thousands of runners taking part in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon here in Walt Disney World.

This morning's race began at 5 am. and was celebrated in the usual way, with fireworks as the first runners crossed the starting line.

For the first time this weekend, runners were met with rain, although nothing could dampen the souls of the runners taking part, as they all enthusiastically started the race.

This weekend saw thousands of runners participating in three races, Thursday's 5K, yesterday mornings 10K, and the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon earlier today.

The theme for this mornings race celebrated the story of pianist, Joe Gardner in the 2020 Disney movie Soul.

This morning half marathon covered a course of 13.1-miles at Walt Disney World that course that celebrated the music and magic of the United States of America.

One of the highlights of the runDisey races is the many characters who are on hand to provide runners with some pretty awesome photo opportunities.

Runners love to get dressed up for the runDisney events, and really put some amazing effort into their costumes!

This morning's half marathon saw runners race throughout both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Runners ran through Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Mickey and Minnie go dressed up for the occasion meeting runners in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Stitch was on his best behaviour for a change!

Captain Hook and See took time off from chasing Peter Pan to pose for pictures with runners.

The finishers medal for today's Half marathon celebrated Should and featured the movies main character, Joe Gardner.

Finishers were delighted to celebrate their success.
