Orlando Theme Parks Directly In The Path Of Hurricane Ian As Storm Intensifies To 155mph

Hurricane Ian has now strengthened to near category 5 status, with wind speeds of 155mph as it approaches the west coast of Florida.


The latest forecast track puts Hurricane Ian on a path directly through Central Florida, passing over Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.


Hurricane Ian is rapidly intensifying and the extremely dangerous eye-wall is moving onshore in Florida already with maximum sustained winds close to near Category 5 strength.



The latest local forecasts expect the worst conditions to arrive in the theme park corridor at around 10 pm today, Wednesday, September 28, and continuing through to Thursday morning.


In the Orlando area winds gusting upwards of 80mph are expected, with rainfall up to 2 feet.


Significant flooding will continue to be a major risk for Central Florida before, during, and after Ian passes through the region. together with large-scale power outages.
