The Florida Smash Beer Festival was created to celebrate the creativity and camaraderie of breweries in the Sunshine State. Breweries around the state compete to win best beer, using one Single Malt and one Single Hop strain.
The Florida Smash Beer Festival takes over Reiter Park in Longwood on Saturday, January 28 for a day of warm sunshine, great music and cold beer.
This year as well as Florida breweries, for the first time ever, organisers have inviting out-of-state breweries to join in Smash Fest!
The festival will feature 37 in and out-of-state breweries, including Ivanhoe Park, Sandford Brewing, Hourglass Brewing and Oviedo Brewing Company.
At the festival, each brewery must concoct a beer made from the same single malt and single hop. This limitation forces brewers to think outside the box while focusing on innovative flavor, outstanding quality, and technique.
With roughly 80 beers to sample, including one-offs from every brewery, there will be something to please everyone.
This year’s Smash Beer Festival proceeds will be donated to A Spoonful of Hope, Second Harvest Food Bank’s signature product line.
100% of the proceeds directly support Second Harvest’s no-cost 16-week Culinary Training program, which provides qualified, economically challenged adults with the culinary and life skills training to pursue a sustainable career in the food industry.
