Bundle up, its going to be a freezing cold Christmas here in Central Florida with Jack Frost visiting as well as Santa Claus!
An Arctic cold front is set to blast into Central Florida on Friday with bitterly cold air settling over Orlando for the Christmas weekend.
Freeze watches are already in effect for the holiday weekend, with upgrades to freeze warnings looking likely. Wind chill advisories are also in play with feels like temps between 10-17 degrees, now that's cold!
Wake up temperature on Christmas Eve morning will be down in the 20s and 30s, with daytime highs only expected to reach into the 40s and low 50s at best on Saturday.
The last time Orlando failed to reach the 50s for an afternoon high temperature was back in January 2014.
Then, on Christmas Day morning when everyone is waking up to check if Santa has delivered gifts, Jack Frost will have delivered more freezing temperatures, starting in the 20s and 30s.
Clouds will increase through the afternoon, preventing much warming, with highs on Christmas Day expected to only reach the mid to upper 40s.
It will definitely feel like Christmas for a change here in Central Florida, and could potentially make Christmas 2022 one of the coldest Christmases on record!
The coldest Christmas on record for Orlando is 36 degrees, set in 1983. That record will probably stand, but we could be looking at the second coldest Christmas ever.
If you haven't done so already, it's time to look out the Christmas jumpers, hats, and mittens!
Stay warm Central Florida!!
