- Corey Taylor is bringing the CMF2 TOUR to House of Blues Orlando this September
The Slipknot singer Corey Taylor is heading out on tour to support his upcoming new album. Corey Taylor has announced a 2023 tour this August in support of his new album CMF2, with support from Wargasm, Oxymorrons, and Luna Aura on select dates. The CMF2 TOUR will kick off on August 25 in Denver and runs through an October 5 in Los Angeles, The tour will stop off at Orlando's House of Blues on September 19, with the new CMF2 album released days earlier on September 15. Tickets available via Live Nation Presale Wednesday, May 17 at 10 am, Code: ICONIC. General Tickets go on sale Friday, May 19. Taylor has teased his second solo album as being “bigger, better, and harder” than the first, and lead single “Beyond” is a rousing introduction to the singer’s latest collection. The song has origins as far back as 2006, finally coming to fruition in its completed form for CMF2under the guidance of producer Jay Ruston, who produced Stone Sour’s 2017 Hydrograd as well as the first CMFT LP. “I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song,” Taylor stated in a press release. “Bringing the masses together, and letting them know that I want my music to take them beyond what they may think about me. Maybe they’ve had a misconception about me. It’s not exactly a calling card, more like throwing the bat signal up and being ‘alright, let’s turn everything on its head.’ It’s almost a dual threat, because now I look at it from two standpoints.” Added Taylor on working with Ruston once again: “Together we have great ideas, great energy, and are quick to try everything. We’re not afraid to tell each other if it’s a good idea, or also a bad one; we have that kind of trust.” For the very latest news and information from Orlando and Central Florida, check back often here at Gotta Go Orlando as we keep you informed throughout the day, every day. - Today's the day - Walt Disney World introduces new Cast Member Nametags!
Cast members are placing a newly designed nametag over their hearts today, and this design is extra special – look for a gold star on the nametag, representing the cast at Walt Disney World Resort. Starting today, you will see something new on Walt Disney World Resort cast member costumes – an all-new nametag! Nametags have been a time-honored Disney tradition for over 50 years at Walt Disney World Resort. For cast members, Disney is a calling to be part of something extraordinary, something magical, something incredibly unique, and our nametags are a symbol that connects us to our guests and each other at The Most Magical Place on Earth. As a costume designer, Joshua Winchester shared his vision for designing the new Walt Disney World nametag, which was inspired by the combination of twinkly stars and pixie dust’s magic. “The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort,” said Joshua, “while the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.” The dreamy, misty blues were also inspired by the color palette from the Disney classic animated film, “Cinderella.” For the finishing touch, the nametag also features a glossy finish over the stars for a little glint and sparkle when the light catches. For decades, Disney nametags have helped cast members establish a family-friendly environment with guests as it carries their name and hometown. - Check Out The New Attractions Coming To Central Florida Theme Parks In 2023
As we say goodby to 2022, it's time to look ahead to a new year, and check out all the new attractions and experiences coming to Central Florida's Theme Parks in 2023. Here in Orlando we have so much to look forward to in 2023, with new attractions planned for every theme park in the area! Quickly looking back first, 2022 saw Walt Disney World continuing the 50th Anniversary Celebrations, plus of course it was the 40th Anniversary of EPCOT, and the big news of 2022 was the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, while SeaWorld Orlando opened Ice Breaker, and Busch Gardens opened Iron Gwazi, plus we welcomed an oinktastic Peppa Pig Theme Park to LEGOLAND Florida Resort too. Yes, 2022 gave us quite a few new attractions, but it looks like 2023 is going to be a much bigger year at Central Florida's theme parks with some very exciting new attractions getting ready to make their debut in the year ahead. Of course, timelines are subject to change, but as of right now, visitors, and locals will have lots of new experiences to look forward to enjoying in 2023, from new coasters, family attractions, and more! New Additions Coming To Central Florida Theme Parks In 2023 Walt Disney World Tron Lightcycle Run Park: Magic Kingdom Expected Opening: April 2023 It's hard to believe that TRON Lightcycle Run has been under construction for over five years now, and while the attraction was due to open for the start of the big 50th Anniversary Celebrations, it looks likely that the ride will reopening just about the same time that the anniversary celebrations are ending in April 2023. TRON Lightcycle Run is of course going to be the new year's headline new attraction at Walt Disney World, and yes we have been waiting forever to ride it, but its still very exciting to finally know that we will entering the grid in Aril next year! When the ride is ready to go, guests can look forward to climbing aboard their very own Lightcycle and racing against the Grid’s most menacing Programs, crossing through energy gates as well as thrilling twists and turns. The attraction will also have the distinction of being the fastest at Walt Disney World when it opens, reaching a top speed of 60 MPH. Journey of Water - Inspired by Moana Park: EPCOT Expected Opening: Late 2023 Moana fans, get excited! Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is set to open in late 2023. This new addition to the park will be a walkthrough attraction allowing guests to interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting that includes fountains, waterfalls, and more. Of course, characters and more from the Moana film will feature heavily in the attraction, with Te Fiti being a part of the future attraction, standing at 15-16 feet tall, containing over 180 feet of vines Work on this exciting new attraction is ongoing, but Disney have confirmed that the attraction will officially be opening at EPCOT before the end of the year, in late 2023, with the attraction located in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT. Dreamer's Point Park: EPCOT Expected Opening: Late 2023 Another exciting and much anticipated new addition to EPCOT coming in late 2023 is Dreamer's Point featuring Walt The Dreamer. New Nighttime Spectacular Park: EPCOT Expected Opening: Late 2023 Walt Disney World announced earlier this year that the current nighttime spectacular at EPCOT, Harmonious, would be replaced by an entirely new 100 Years of Wonder nighttime spectacular in 2023. We knew “Harmonious” would be replaced in 2023. This was a very surprising announcement considering that Harmonious only debuted in 2021 as part of the resort's 50th Anniversary Celebrations. While no information at all has been revealed what the new show will include, Disney have confirmed that the giant barges that are part of the Harmonious show will be torn down to make way for the new nighttime show. Figment Meet & Greet Park: EPCOT Expected Opening: 2023 It was announced that the much loved Figment Meet and Greet will be returning to Walt Disney World resort in 2023! This much loved and very lively purple dragon still stands as the mascot of EPCOT four decades after the park first opened, and guests will soonhave the opportunity to meet him when visiting EPCOT. We don’t have an opening date yet, but you can expect to find him at the Imagination Pavilion in World Celebration by the end of 2023! Hatbox Ghost Park: Magic Kingdom Expected Opening: Late 2023 Earlier this year we got word that a happy haunt from the West Coast will be materializing at Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion sometime next year. While guests can enjoy this classic Disney attraction on both coasts, it’s known that Disneyland and Magic Kingdom have slightly different ride experiences. Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is known for the Hatbox Ghost and now Magic Kingdom guests will soon be able to visit him in Liberty Square, too! Haunted Mansion opened with the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971, so seeing a piece of Disneyland make its way to Orlando is sure to have those 999 happy haunts excited! Happily Ever After Park: Magic Kingdom Expected Opening: Late 2023 Just like the nighttime spectacular Harmonious at EPCOT, Disney's much hyped nighttime fireworks and projection show Enchanted at the Magic Kingdom will also be ending after only a short run. The most surprising news is that the much better received show Happily Ever After that Enchanted replaced will be coming back, and will be even better than before as the show will be receiving an update, so yeah, it's a new attraction for 2023!! Plus, as Disney is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, we could even see a few surprise additions to mark such a major milestone for the company! What we do know is that with so many openings in coming year, we’re in for a great big beautiful tomorrow at Walt Disney World Resort! - Brad Paisley to headline the 12th Annual Tampa Pig Jig this October with Riley Green and more!
Brad Paisley, Riley Green, The Head and the Heart, Shovels & Rope, and Amanda Shires have all been confirmed for this year's Tampa Pig Jig 2023 Get ready — things are heating up this October! Tampa Bay's premier philanthropic community event, the Tampa Pig Jig, have just announced the arrest lineup for this year's 12th annual Pig Jig!! Tampa Pig Jig will welcome three-time GRAMMY-Award winner Brad Paisley to Julian B. Lane Park on Saturday, October 21. Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Riley Green, indie folk artists The Head And The Heart, folk duo Shovels & Rope, and GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Amanda Shires join him in the lineup. The Tampa Pig Jig has become one of Tampa's favorite fall events combining live music, games, a silent auction, and delicious food and drinks into one fun-filled day. A group of local men founded the Tampa Pig Jig to support their friend fighting against FSGS, a rare kidney disease. Kidney disease affects more than 1 in 7 adults in the U.S., and Nephrotic Syndrome, which includes FSGS, is one of the most severe and debilitating forms. Currently, there is no cure. Since its inception, the Tampa Pig Jig has helped NephCure increase funding for critical research, growing from just three clinical trials in 2011 to nearly 60 now underway. As it enters its twelfth year, the nonprofit event has raised more than $5 million and inspired events in San Jose (Silicon Valley Pig Jig), Colorado Springs (Rocky Mountain Pig Jig), and Staten Island (1st Annual Staten Island Pig Jig). Brad Paisley has earned his place in country music history as one of the genre's most talented and decorated male solo artists. For more than 20 years, his songwriting and unmatched showmanship have won him numerous awards, including three GRAMMYs, two American Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 14 Country Music Association Awards, including a highly coveted Entertainer of the Year honor and recognition as the most successful CMA Award co-host in history, alongside Carrie Underwood, for 11 consecutive years. A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Paisley has written 21 of his 25 No. 1 hits and, in 2008, became the first artist to achieve ten consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles. The superstar's past works have amassed nearly 5 billion career streams. Riley Green's musical perspective has been hailed as "Drinks-in-the-air Nineties Country at an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate," and that is just the type of energy fans have come to expect. Raised on the sounds of traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Southern Gospel music, the Jacksonville, AL native learned the spirit of songwriting and performing at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Bufford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. He fittingly shares co-writing credits posthumously alongside his two grandfathers on the 2x Platinum-certified "I Wish Grandpas Never Died." His debut album Different 'Round Here (BMLG Records), featured the Platinum-certified hit No. 1 "There Was This Girl," and his Behind the Bar collection with Gold-certified "If It Wasn't For Trucks" and We Out Here: Live followed as the 2020 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year has "brought Country back to its roots (Whiskey Riff). His collaboration with Thomas Rhett on "Half Of Me" earned Green his second No. 1 as he continues to deliver tracks directly to his loyal following, including his new single "Different 'Round Here (Feat. Luke Combs)." Acclaimed Seattle band, The Head And The Heart is fresh off the release of their fifth studio album, Every Shade of Blue, and a headlining North American Tour. Known for their introspective lyrics, the band's 2011 self-titled debut album was certified Gold and included instant classics such as "Rivers and Roads," "Lost in My Mind," and "Down in the Valley." 2013's Let's Be Still and 2016's Signs of Light settled into the top 10 of The Billboard 200 album chart, with Signs of Light securing the No. 1 position on Rock Album charts, scoring the band's first No. 1 on Alternative radio with "All We Ever Knew" and also holding the No. 1 spot at AAA for nine straight weeks. The Head And The Heart have achieved both commercial and critical success, earning recognition as one of the leading bands in the indie folk genre. Shovels & Rope's visceral, bold, and at times deeply personal album Manticore takes aim at idol worship, homelessness, social justice, the experience of fierce parental love, and marital strife. The album is another example of the raw and gritty songwriting that has earned artists Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst a dedicated and loyal fanbase. The duo released O' Be Joyful more than ten years (2012) ago to critical acclaim. In the decade that followed, Shovels & Rope released six full-length albums, three collaborative covers albums (Busted Jukebox Volumes 1-3), a curated music festival in their hometown of Charleston, SC (High Water), a musical film (Shovels & Rope: The Movie) and countless dynamic live performances all over the planet. GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Amanda Shires has made an extraordinary career out of pursuing her deepest instincts and passions. Since getting her start playing fiddle with the legendary Texas Playboys at the young age of 15, she has brought her nuanced songwriting and cutting-edge originality to a series of critically acclaimed solo albums. Shires is a founder of the super group The Highwomen, whose members include Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, and Brandi Carlile, and is also a member of GRAMMY Award-winning Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. Tickets for the 2023 Tampa Pig Jig go on sale this Friday, May 19, at 10 a.m. and start at $125 for general admission. This year, the Tampa Pig Jig has unveiled the Tito's Handmade Vodka Stillhouse, an exclusive Tito's tent area complete with lounge seating, cooling misters, and interactive experiences to sip, sit and mingle with friends. Stillhouse tickets are $275 and include entry into the event, complimentary Tito's Vodka drinks, a meal of choice from the event's incredible lineup of Food Row vendors, private bathrooms, and tent access. These tickets are limited, so early purchase is recommended. Children 10 and under are free and receive the same event access as the accompanying adult. To purchase tickets, inquire about event sponsorship, become a volunteer, or for general event information, please visit tampapigjig.com. The Tampa Pig Jig is an annual fundraiser event hosted on downtown Tampa's beautiful waterfront featuring live music, great food, a corporate BBQ competition, drinks and games. The event benefits NephCure Kidney International, the only nonprofit organization committed to supporting research, improving treatment and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease, FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) and Nephrotic Syndrome. Since its founding, the Tampa Pig Jig has raised more than $5 million, with proceeds benefiting NephCure. The Tampa Pig Jig was founded by Old Florida Federation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization made up of several local Tampa Bay gentlemen. For more information, visit tampapigjig.com.
