- Experience the Flavors of Kissimmee with the New Latin Culinary Trail
In partnership with Atlas Obscura, the trail showcases Osceola County’s vibrant Hispanic and Latino food culture, from bustling food trucks to cherished family-owned restaurants. Experience Kissimmee , in collaboration with Atlas Obscura , has unveiled the Latin Culinary Trail , a unique food journey celebrating the rich Hispanic and Latino heritage of Osceola County. Travelers increasingly seek destinations through the lens of local cuisine, looking for authentic flavors that tell the story of a place. This trail brings together restaurants, cafés, food trucks and bars, giving visitors an immersive taste of Kissimmee’s dynamic culinary scene. “With more than 55% of Osceola County identifying as Hispanic or Latino, our community’s culture and cuisine are central to the Kissimmee experience,” said DT Minich, President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee. “Partnering with Atlas Obscura allows us to shine a spotlight on these traditions, showcasing hidden gems and culinary destinations that tell a larger story.” The Latin Culinary Trail launches with 14 carefully curated restaurants and food spots, giving travelers and residents alike a deeper understanding of the people, traditions, and flavors that have shaped Kissimmee’s food landscape. Some featured locations include: Food Trucks Heaven - A vibrant food truck park on US-192 with 50 trucks offering a variety of international and Latin-inspired cuisines. Susana’s Cafe - Housed in a charming historic Downtown Kissimmee home, this café serves dishes from across Latin America in a cozy indoor and outdoor setting. El Cilantrillo - A family-owned restaurant known for its authentic Puerto Rican dishes and generous portions – perfect for sharing. La Mexicana Restaurant - A women-owned Mexican restaurant and grocery store serving classic Mexican cuisine in a welcoming environment for food enthusiasts. Perico Ripiao Latin Food - A locally-owned and operated Caribbean restaurant offering a wide variety of delicious dishes of classic Dominican food. One such destination is Susana’s Café ; a charming downtown spot located in a beautifully preserved 100-year-old Craftsman home. Celebrated for bringing Costa Rican coffee culture to the city, the café serves artisanal coffee brewed with traditional methods alongside Latin dishes. “Opening Susana’s Café was about more than serving food and coffee,” said owner Susana Martinez, Owner o f Susana’s Café. “It was about preserving a piece of Kissimmee history and sharing the richness of Latin flavors with our community. We do everything with love—every cup, every dish is made to slow down, savor, and celebrate the culture we cherish.” Atlas Obscura selected these 14 locations based on their ability to tell a bigger story through food—whether highlighting underrepresented communities, using local resources in unique ways, or revealing hidden culinary gems with fascinating histories. “Food has the power to tell stories that go beyond the plate,” said Louise Story, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Obscura. “Through this partnership with Experience Kissimmee, we enjoyed uncovering these hidden gems and are excited to highlight these restaurants and culinary experiences that reveal the rich history, culture, and creativity of the local Hispanic and Latino communities. These small businesses are the heartbeat of the city, and the Latin Culinary Trail is simply not to be missed." In addition to the interactive map, the partnership will also feature extended content throughout the year, including recipes from the Latin Culinary Trail’s highlighted restaurants, spotlights on culinary innovators, a video series, and a podcast episode—giving audiences an even deeper look into Kissimmee’s vibrant food culture. - Pedestrian Bridge opens at Orlando International Airport offering convenient access to Terminal C
The wait is over: MCO's Pedestrian Bridge is officially open, and there’s more to come - an adjacent rental car lobby area will be opening in the future! A spacious and contemporary Pedestrian Bridge is now open to passenger traffic at Orlando International Airport (MCO), offering a new and convenient pathway between Terminal C, the Train Station, and the Terminal Link. The long-awaited Pedestrian Bridge, with a set of bidirectional moving walkways, was in the original design for Terminal C but was removed as a cost-saving measure when the COVID-19 pandemic impacted construction projects at MCO and other airports. The walkways, including ramps, are approximately 90 feet in length but will be extended once the entire project, including the Rental Car Lobby, opens in 2026. As part of this program, a third set of moving walkways will be installed in the existing GTF Bridge. “The Pedestrian Bridge represents both progress and a promise,” said Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, which operates Orlando International and Orlando Executive airports. “By opening this new access, we are delivering greater convenience to our passengers and meeting their expectations of a world-class airport.” The future extended walkways for the Pedestrian Bridge are only one part of the significant enhancements coming to Terminal C. The Phase 1 gate expansion is underway to increase capacity and streamline the travel process across the entire airport complex. Four new boarding piers will accommodate eight narrow-body equivalent aircraft positions for efficiency and flexibility. Additionally, airport staff is conducting several studies to determine the best locations for additional moving walkways. Terminal C primarily serves international airlines. For 2024, MCO saw an increase in international travel with nearly 800,000 more passengers moving through its terminals compared to 2023. MCO is currently ranked the busiest airport in Florida; the 9th busiest in the U.S.; and the 25th busiest in the world. - Check out the Big @ss Plant Sale "Fun"draiser in Eustis for 'Big O' a 25-year-old Somali Ostrich!
Stop by the Crazy Plants Nursery greenhouse in Eustis, to help Crazy Critters re-home 'Big O' the Ostrich! Over the last eight months, Crazy Critters have been working on their biggest rescue. While they are almost ready to finalize the transportation, they are not ready yet. It all comes down to money, and they need more fencing, a few gates, and a pole barn before they can bring the ostrich named "Big O" to the facility. "Big O" is a 25-year-old Somali ostrich (Struthio molybdophanes) whose keeper is experiencing severe health issues requiring the adoption event. This unusual rehome is in partnership with the Lake County Sheriff's Office and Lake County Animal Shelter to help a local community member with the placement of the amazing bird. Crazy Critters Inc. is a licensed animal facility that specializes in rehoming exotic animals, but is accepting "Big O" as a forever resident, in which his feathers will be an income revenue producer for their agricultural programs. Classified as a vulnerable species in the wild, the ostrich population is threatened by habitat loss and hunting Males have prominent black feathers with white wing and tail feathers, while females have dull brownish-gray feathers. The feathers lack waterproofing, and their loose structure contributes to a shaggy appearance. Used primarily in fashion and decorative crafts, they are also historically used for ceremonial and practical purposes. Their unique texture, softness, and durability make them a valuable and versatile material. We sell the feathers to jewelry makers, artists, and people who make fly-fishing lures. Interestingly, Ostrich feathers can be collected without harming the animal during the natural molting cycle. "Big O" will also be an educational ambassador, teaching our community about the history of this amazing species, evolutionary adaptations, environmental benefits, and more! Consider stopping by the Crazy Plants Nursery greenhouse, now through Sunday, October 5,2025 to help Crazy Critters reach their goal! You will find Philodendrons, Hoya, Epi Pothos, Monstera, Anthurium, and more! Crazy Plants Nursery is located at 22919 County Road 44a Eustis, FL 32736 For more details on the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1794325981447945/1794326001447943/ . Known as the queen of Easter eggs, Taylor would be proud of the hidden surprises and clever twists guests will discover around every corner. Expect Instagram-worthy installations, curated playlists featuring Taylor’s biggest hits, and interactive illusions reimagined with a showgirl twist — all designed with a true Mastermind’s touch. As part of the celebration, Museum of Illusions Orlando is offering an exclusive ticket promotion. Now through October 2, all guests can enjoy child-priced admission for just $17.99 when purchasing tickets online.
