Popular Chicago-style dogs and sandwich restaurant Portillo's is planning a second location in Central Florida. According to a plan review filed with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the new Portillo’s location is going to be 8011 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee. The location of the new restaurant is on the 192 in Kissimmee is next to Miller's Ale House, Tijuana Flats, Texas Roadhouse, and more. Across from the location is The Promenade at Sunset Walk which includes Rocks & Brews and Ford's Garage. No announcement has been made when the opening date will be for the new location, but if you can't wait, you can always visit Portillo's Orlando location on Palm Parkway.

Orlando based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has awarded contracts to develop 50 properties for its brand new economy extended-stay hotel brand, currently known as Project Echo. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world's largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,000 hotels across nearly 95 countries, has unveiled details about its upcoming economy extended-stay hotel brand. Among them, newly awarded contracts to develop 50 new construction projects with its first two partners: Richmond, Va.-based Sandpiper Hospitality and Dallas-based Gulf Coast Hotel Management. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed agreements with the first two developers of its new economy extended-stay brand, seeding the brand with an initial pipeline of 50 hotels over the next five years. The purpose-built, 124-room Project ECHO prototype requires just under two acres of land, has a highly competitive cost per key, and features multiple characteristics that intentionally separate it from traditional economy brands. Coming in at just over 50,000 square-feet—nearly 74% of which is rentable—individual rooms average 300 square-feet and consist of single and two-queen studio suites with in-suite kitchenettes while efficiently-designed public spaces—a lobby, fitness center and guest laundry—help to limit labor needs. With 50 hotels already in the initial pipeline—25 each from Sandpiper and Gulf Coast over the next five years—Wyndham is now eyeing additional growth opportunities. Disney imagineer Zach Riddley has revealed the name of the merchandise location at the soon to open Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction in EPCOT Treasures of Xandar will be the home of the gift shop at the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, located at the exit of the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster. Imagineer Riddley announced the news on his Instagram account "Another exciting milestone this morning at the Wonders of Xandar pavilion as we announce and reveal our merchandise location: Treasures of Xandar! This store is operated by The Broker, a proud Xandarian, who’s been awarded the contract and brought part of his famous store here to EPCOT. Some of the merchandise pays tribute to Xandar and items acquired throughout the galaxy and, of course, some items celebrate The Heroes of Xandar, the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Broker also shared the following with our WDI team recently: “I am so delighted to bring my wares to the Wonders of Xandar pavilion. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is offering new virtual lessons as part of its Club Discovery program. ​The virtual experience is designed for kids in grades three through six and includes STEM-based activities on space exploration. As part of the program, kids can participate in a three-hour virtual lesson conducted by a KSC educator. Upcoming lessons include Mission Moon Base on April 8 and Earth Day on April 22. Both experiences start 1 p.m. ET. During Mission Moon Base, kids will learn what it takes to build a base and live on the moon. For Earth Day, kids will learn to grow plants with at-home hydroponics and learn about reusing rock pieces. The virtual experience costs $30 per student. Tampa Pride officially returns to the city of Tampa on March 26 with a jam packed day of celebrations. This year's Tampa Pride 2022 include a vendor and wellness fair, a food truck alley, huge street parade, and a Pride at Night Party at The Cuban Club in Historic Ybor City.
