Have you noticed these interesting white structures across Walt Disney World Resort?
They’re bird houses for purple martins!
Walt Disney World have more than 20 strategically placed towers with 24 nest compartments for our purple feathered friends, from EPCOT to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and beyond.
Every spring, this migratory species travels over 3,000 miles from Brazil to build their nests and start their families at the most magical place on earth!
Thanks to innovative research using GPS technology, Disney Conservation Team Wildlife knows these birds prefer bird houses to nests.
Adding the makes it even easier for purple martins to hatch chicks before flying south again for the winter.
