The Sports Business Journal has unveiled its list of best U.S. sports cities, and Orlando has came out on top, named "Best Sports Business City for Attracting and Hosting Events."

In awarding Orlando "Best Sports City for Events," Sports Business Journal highlighted the Greater Orlando Sports Commission’s role in attracting huge sporting events and conferences to the city, “It is Orlando’s ability to host any sport at any time, and often at the same time that really propelled Orlando to the top of our rankings,” said David Broughton, Sports Business Journal Research Director. “With the number of sports visitors that Orlando welcomes, it’s like hosting a Super Bowl every day.”

To come up with its findings, Sports Business Journal analyzed data from 240 cities throughout the country, taking into account sporting events in each city, the amount of convention space and sports venues, together with analyzing each cities sports commission.

With Las Vegas who recently hosted the Super Bowl in second place, and Los Angels in third place, you can see how the accolade for Orlando is a huge deal!

There’s so much more to come as we continue to innovate and shape the future of event hosting!"

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer was proud of the achievement, commenting, "Sports have the power to bring residents together, showcase our community’s vibrancy and drive economic growth by bringing more visitors to the region. We should all be proud that Sports Business Journal has named Orlando the nation's "Best Sports City for Events."

The City of Orlando added, "Another Victory for Orlando! Let's celebrate and keep showing the world why Orlando is the ultimate destination for sports and community spirit!

Orlando Economic Partnership added proudly, "This recognition from the Sports Business Journal is a testament to the Orlando region's world-class venues, our diverse and talented workforce, and our vibrant and resilient community. Orlando is a premier sports event destination. And that makes Orlando Unbelievably Real."

The award for “Best Sports Business City” will officially be presented to the city at an official ceremony at downtown Orlando's Kia Center on April 3.
