Melbourne International Airport has seen huge growth since last year when UK airline TUI switched from flying tourists from the United Kingdom into Sanford Airport to Melbourne.

Melbourne's total number of incoming and departing passengers rocketed from 372,287 in 2021 to 701,257 in 2022!!

This year, airport officials predict an even higher amount of passengers, with a record-breaking total of 850,000 incoming and departing passengers.

The airport is also seeing much redevelopment of its facilities, mainly due to the addition of the TUI flights from the UK, including a $72 million passenger terminal expansion-renovation designed to handle aircraft as large as TUI's Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
