- Jay-Z’s Cousin opens new Orlando wing spot, Buffalo Boss serving up Organic Buffalo Wings!
Buffalo Boss has opened a bricks and mortar restaurant in Orlando, following success with a ghost kitchen. A Brooklyn-based chicken wing concept, Buffalo Boss Organic Wings & Things has opened a location in Downtown Orlando. Founded by entrepreneur Jamar White, the first cousin to Rapper Jay-Z, Buffalo Boss Organic Wings & Things has opened at 333 N Orange Ave, Orlando., with the new quick-service restaurant, continuing on from a successful ghost kitchen in the city since 2023. The new Orlando location is open Mon - Weds: 10 am - 12 am, Thursday and Friday: 10 am - 4 am, Saturday: 11 am - 4 am, and Sunday: 11 am - 12 am. The location delivers via online sites UberEats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. The Buffalo Boss was started in 2010 by founder Jamar White. Jamar is a wing fanatic, and he wanted to create a wing concept restaurant that had the urban feel of the New York City streets, injected with that famous Brooklyn Hip Hop swagger, a place that would bring the party back to the "Party Wing". This passion gave birth to the Buffalo Boss Organic Wings & Things . At the heart of the concept was a passion for wings. No antibiotics, no growth hormones. Jamar insisted on serving only quality poultry and fresh ingredients for his buffalo wings... and things. He wanted to keep the concept fun and health-aware. The Buffalo Boss menu includes 12 house-made addictive sauces, chicken tenders, sweet potato fries and for the kid in all of us, a fun treat... Fried Oreos. Founder Jamar White was raised in Brooklyn NY where he realized his passion for wings and business. Being the first cousin to Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z inspired him to infuse hip hop in the DNA of the Buffalo Boss restaurants. His vision to create a restaurant that is exciting, current and would change the way wings were done. The combination of great food, great spaces, great service and a little hip hop swagger has made the Buffalo Boss one of the most exciting wing restaurants in the marketplace. - After 25 Years serving authentic Cuban food in Ivanhoe Village, Cindy's Café has permanently closed
Ivanhoe Village locals can no longer enjoy Cindy's Signature Cuban, or a creamy café con leche, or cortadito from the popular Cindy's Café. A little gem right across from Florida Hospital in Downtown Orlando, Cindy's Café has been serving Cuban comfort food to Ivanhoe Village locals and visitors for 25 years, but sadly no more. Located at 2512 North Orange Avenue, Cindy's Café has announced that it has permanently closed the doors to the popular Cuban cafe due to a variety of factors, mainly the fact that the building on N. Orlando Ave is being torn down by owners, Advent Health in the near future Announcing the sad news on social media, the longtime cafe owners Cindy and John shared the reasons for the sudden and permanent closure of Cindy's Café. "It's with heavy hearts that we share the permanent closure of Cindy's Cafe, after 25 years. We had hoped to stay open, but the building we've been in is being torn down, and unfortunately, it's not ours to save. This, combined with the declining health of one of our owners, has made it impossible for us to continue at this time. We had originally planned to remain open through November, but due to an unexpected medical emergency, we are no longer able to reopen and will be closing permanently effective immediately." They went on to thank everyone for the support they have received over the years from the local community, "We are so grateful for the love and support our community has shown us over the years — you've truly become part of our family. We will truly miss you all. As we focus on health and healing, we've created a GoFundMe page to help with medical and personal expenses. Any support means more than words can express." John, the owner’s husband, has become very ill. As a child, he had Polio and currently is experiencing Post-Polio Syndrome. He recently had a heart stent placed because of blockage; and is currently awaiting surgery for other complications. He is now in a wheelchair and needing 24-hour care and physical therapy in hopes that he will recover and be able to walk again.
