Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket is set to fly its second mission, carrying NASA’s ESCAPADE probes to Mars. Watch Blue Origin send its New Glenn rocket carrying the ESCAPADE payload to space! No earlier than Thursday, November 9, the Blue Origin New Glenn ESCAPADE mission will launch from Space Launch Complex 36 - Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will have some of the best viewing vantage points available. Experience the thrill of the launch day from the heart of the visitor complex. With admission, you’ll have access to designated viewing areas, live launch commentary, and all the exhibits and attractions that make the complex a full-day destination. It’s a great way to enjoy the excitement of liftoff while exploring everything space exploration has to offer.  The new Gantry at LC-39, located just over 9 miles from the launch pad, will provide Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT) holders premium launch viewing. Priced at $99 (+ admission and tax) the LTT includes: Bus transportation to/from The Gantry Access to bleachers Real-time launch audio, video feed and commentary from a space-expert communicator Daily admission is required to purchase an LTT for the November  launch. The Apollo/Saturn V Center and parking lot 1 (near Heroes and Legends) at the main visitor complex will also offer launch viewing on a first come basis. Included with admission, these viewing experiences will feature live launch commentary provided by a space expert as well as a live video feed. This flight follows the rocket’s debut mission in January and is its first operational launch for a NASA science payload. The payload, ESCAPADE (Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers), consists of two identical small satellites. The twin probes, nicknamed “Blue” and “Gold,” were built by Rocket Lab and are part of NASA’s Small Innovative Missions for Planetary Exploration (SIMPLEx) program. Once they arrive at Mars, the two spacecraft will enter complementary orbits to study the planet’s unique magnetosphere. Their goal is to understand how the solar wind interacts with the Martian atmosphere, stripping it away over time. This dual-satellite view will give scientists a real-time, 3D picture of atmospheric escape, helping to solve the puzzle of how Mars lost its ancient, watery climate. The 321-foot-tall (98-meter) New Glenn rocket recently completed a successful static fire of its seven BE-4 engines on Oct. 30 in preparation for this flight. Blue Origin will attempt to land the reusable first stage on its drone ship, named Jacklyn, in the Atlantic Ocean.
