- The Evil Dead In Concert will thrill and chill audiences at The Plaza Live Orlando weekend!
Experience Sam Raimi's beloved cult classic film like never before, with Joe LoDuca's iconic score performed live on stage. Audiences are invited to the ultimate horror movie concert experience as The Evil Dead is presented on a large HD cinema screen. On stage, a live orchestral ensemble will perform the spine-tingling score from award-winning TV and film composer Joe LoDuca. “The ultimate horror movie concert experience has arrived with a night of cinematic chaos, demonic energy, and killer sounds,” said John Kinsner, CEO of Black Ink Presents, the producer of “Evil Dead In Concert.” Kinsner, a fellow horror enthusiast and fan of the film franchise, added, “It’s not every day you get to watch someone chainsaw a demon while a live ensemble performs.” Evil Dead follows five college students on vacation in an isolated cabin in the woods, where they unwittingly release absolute evil into the world and have to fight to survive. It is known as one of the most significant cult horror films of all time and has generated a massive following worldwide since the film’s theatrical release on Oct. 15, 1981. LoDuca’s score is orchestral but experimental, blending eerie strings, pounding percussion, and screeching sound effects to emphasize dread and supernatural chaos. “I am so excited for audiences around the country to join us on an intense, aural descent into hell with this beautiful score and all its madness,” said LoDuca, who began his film career by composing the iconic score for director Raimi. Remarkably, it was his first film score. Following the success of Evil Dead, he became a frequent collaborator with Raimi and went on to win multiple Emmys for his scoring work. Most recently, he released a reimagined version of the original Evil Dead score called “Evil Dead: A Nightmare Reimagined,” where he re-recorded and expanded on the original musical themes of the movie. - The FREE Cypress Gardens Water Ski Show returns to Winter Haven on November 15
Members of the original Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team continue to WOW central Florida audiences, and work to pass on their water skiing skills to the next generation, see them in action this weekend. The Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team perform free ski shows throughout the year in Winter Haven. Be sure to check out the Cypress Gardens Water Ski show at the newly remodeled Martin Luther King Jr Park, on Lake Silver, Winter Haven. The latest show is on November 15, 2025, kicking off with a pre-show at 3.30 pm, and the main ski show at 4 pm. Did you visit Cypress Gardens when you were a kid? The Show-Ski Team was started by former water-skiers from Florida’s first theme park, with is now LEGOLAND Florida. From the pyramid to one ski, to even barefoot, the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team pulls out all the tricks on Lake Silver. A world famous show that started at the old Cypress Gardens theme park in 1943 and continues on in Winter Haven to this day. The show is held on Lake Silver in Winter Haven. Go to Martin Luther King Jr Park, 275 S. Lake Silver Dr. The show features an hour of performance with beginner and professional skiers, some young, and some young at heart! If you’re attending the show, be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating. Burgers, hot dogs, snacks, drinks, t-shirts and hats are available for sale. All sales benefit the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team . The Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team was started by former waterskiers from Cypress Gardens Theme Park who want to pass on their show skiing legacy to the next generation. Before Walt Disney World and the rest of Central Florida’s sprawl of tourist destinations there was a family-owned theme park known as Cypress Gardens. Cypress Gardens’ founder, Dick Pope, filled the park’s landscape with gorgeous flowers, beautiful Southern Belles, and thrilling water ski show. The first water ski show took place in 1943 and – until the theme park closed in 2009 – held the distinction of being the “longest running entertainment production in the world” just ahead of Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. During its 66 year run, millions upon millions of Florida visitors were thrilled by amazing barefooters, gravity-defying Rampmasters, lines of Aquamaids skimming effortlessly in precision across the water, and 4-tier human pyramids. The Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team broke over 50 World Records and became known around the globe as the “Water Ski Capital of the World.” Led by Former Show Director, Mark Voisard, the Cypress Gardens Water Skiers decided they did not want the legacy of world-class show skiing to die with the closing of the theme park. So they formed a new team with two goals: to continue to WOW central Florida audiences, and to pass on their water skiing skills to the next generation. The team works closely with the city of Winter Haven to perform shows at Martin Luther King Park on Lake Silver.
