Pointe Orlando with grand opening on Friday, July 25.
The world's premier destination for premium location-based, full-body virtual reality experiences, Sandbox VR, is set to open its 58th location on July 25, 2025, at Pointe Orlando in the heart of the tourism district - a first for the Central Florida market.
Sandbox VR is a cutting-edge virtual reality experience that combines full-body motion capture with immersive gaming. Players step into a fully interactive virtual world, where they can team up with friends to explore, battle, and solve puzzles in a variety of action-packed scenarios.
Each session offers a unique and unforgettable adventure, blending the excitement of video games with the physicality of real-world interactions. Perfect for team building, parties, or simply a fun day out, Sandbox VR pushes the boundaries of entertainment.
State-of-the-art virtual reality technology
Sandbox VR is creating the future of entertainment by building the world’s most immersive experiences using state-of-the-art virtual reality technology. Groups of up to six friends put on VR headsets and wear motion sensors that capture their full body movements, letting them see and physically interact with each other as they battle in a shared virtual world.
This patented technology provides a realism that's not possible with home VR or other location-based platforms. Guests' own bodies act as their game controllers as they step into these virtual worlds.
Guests can choose from nine different VR experiences created by Sandbox VR’s in-house team of video game industry veterans, including Rebel Moon: The Descent, Deadwood PHOBIA, Deadwood Valley, Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire, Amber Sky 2088, Deadwood Mansion, Unbound Fighting League, and more kid-friendly games like the popular Squid Game Virtuals and Curse of Davy Jones.
After playing, all guests receive personalized highlight videos–similar to movie trailers–which capture all the laughter, screams, intensity, and excitement of their experience. Backed by Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Kevin Durant, and Will Smith, Sandbox VR takes guests into exclusive worlds where they become the action.

Sandbox VR’s location at Pointe Orlando is an entertainment space featuring five private rooms, called “holodecks,” for virtual reality gameplay. Each holodeck enables groups of four to six players to have a truly shared experience, exploring virtual worlds and relying on each other to succeed in games designed to be social experiences. Together with friends, family or co-workers, players are equipped with a VR headset, a haptic vest, and motion sensors on their wrists and ankles. This technology allows players to see and physically interact with one another while feeling like they are in the middle of an action movie, with the heightened emotions that come from not just watching a film, but from actually becoming the stars of the action.
