Christmas and Halloween collide in the most epic celebration of the year at Oviedo Mall’s Merry & Scary Market

Oviedo Mall is turning up the holiday cheer — and chills — this summer with the debut of the Merry & Scary Mashup, a one-day indoor event bringing the magic of Christmas and the spooky fun of Halloween together in a playful and family-friendly celebration.

Taking place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 12 pm to 6 pm, this unique event invites the

community to experience a festive mix of holiday spirit and frightful fun. Guests can explore a vibrant vendor market featuring local artisans and small businesses showcasing both merry and scary wares, enjoy interactive family activities, and snap photos with Santa Claus on his beach vacation — complete with flip-flops and sunglasses.

“This event is a celebration of imagination and community,” said Josh Gunderson, Director of Marketing & Events for Oviedo Mall. “We wanted to create something playful and unexpected — a way to beat the summer heat while celebrating the best of both holidays. Whether you love peppermint or pumpkins, there’s something here for everyone.”

The Merry & Scary Mashup is free to attend and will be held indoors throughout Oviedo Mall, ensuring a cool and comfortable experience for guests of all ages. Families are encouraged to come dressed in costume or festive attire and enjoy a day full of crafts, photo ops, giveaways, and surprises.

Guests can cast their vote in the “Holiday Fundraiser Poll” to help answer the age-old question: Which holiday is the best — Christmas or Halloween? Each vote is a small donation, and all proceeds benefit Regal’s Stars of Hope, supporting children and families in need.
