The LSU Tigers and the Purdue Boilermakers are set to square off in the 2023 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on January 2 at 1 p.m. at Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando.
The seventh-oldest collegiate bowl game in the country, the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl began as the Tangerine Bowl in 1947.
Since 1993 the bowl has hosted top teams from the Big Ten and Southeastern conferences.
The game moved to a New Year’s Day date in 1987 and has remained a New Year’s Day tradition except in years when the holiday falls on a Sunday, like this year!
The meeting will be the first between the Tigers and Boilermakers, champions of the SEC West and Big Ten West, respectively, in 2022. LSU will be making its sixth Citrus Bowl appearance all time, tied for most among FBS programs. LSU is 2-3 in five previous games and split a pair of back-to-back appearances to close the 2016 and 2017 seasons. LSU will also open its 2023 campaign at Camping World Stadium in the Camping World Kickoff against Florida State. Purdue is coming off the program’s first Big Ten championship game appearance Saturday night, and will be making its second Citrus Bowl appearance and third Orlando bowl appearance overall.
The Boilermakers previously visited Central Florida for the 2004 Capital One Bowl against Georgia and the 2006 Champs Sports Bowl against Maryland.

The teams and the fans have been here in Orlando for several days now, with the teams enjoying visits to Fun Spot on I-Drive, and Universal Orlando.
Fans have also enjoyed Fan Appreciation Day at ICON Park where The Wheel lit up in the teams colours.

Join fellow fans alumni at the official pep rally at Pointe Orlando on I-Drive.
The band and cheerleaders from each team will perform and each head coach will make a special appearance to fire up the crowd before game day!
Cheez-It Citrus Bowl Fan Fest

The official bowl pregame tailgate party for the Cheez-It Bowl features live entertainment, interactive games, inflatables, face painters and premier interactive displays held at Tinker Field next to Camping World Stadium.
Admission is Free.

Starting three hours before kickoff, fans can enjoy this VIP area next to Camping World Stadium featuring lounge seating, all-inclusive food and beverage, plenty of TVs and games as well as live music.
