- National Lampoon's Chevy Chase is taking a vacation to MegaCon Orlando's 2023 Lineup!
A comedy legend has been added to the ever growing list of celebrities coming to this year's MegaCon Orlando in March. Star of the comedy classic movie series National Lampoon, Chevy Chase is coming on a vacation to Orlando! Chase also been a staple of Saturday Night Live, where his recurring Weekend Update segment became a highlight of the show. Chase has earned three Primetime Emmy Awards out of five nominations and two Golden Globe Award nominations. Chase has starred in some of the best loved comedies of our generation, including portraying Clark W. Griswold in five National Lampoon's Vacation films including Vacation , European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation. He also played Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher in Fletch and its sequel Fletch Lives. He also starred in Caddyshack, Spies Like Us, Three Amigos!, and Hot Tub Time Machine. This year's MegaCon Orlando has a growing list of celebrities all coming to this year's event at the Orange County Convention Center. Charlie Hunnam is well known for his roles as Jackson "Jax" Teller in the FX drama series Sons of Anarchy for which he was twice nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series is coming! He has also had roles include Green Street, Undeclared, the title role in Nicholas Nickleby, Pacific Rim, Crimson Peak, The Lost City of Z, and in the title role of Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Already announced for this year's MegaCon Orlando is Golden Globe, SAG, and Emmy nominee Christina Ricci. Ricci is currently starring in Netflix hit Wednesday, and was seen in the Amazon original series Z: The Beginning of Everything, for which she also served as a producer. she also played the title character in the television series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, for which she earned a SAG Award nomination. She has also starred in many films including Mermaids, The Addams Family, Casper, The Smurfs 2, Speed Racer and more. Another guest is Vincent D’Onofrio, well known for his roles in both film and television. His credits include Full Metal Jacket, Men in Black, The Cell, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Jurassic World. D’Onofrio is well know for his portrayal of Kingpin across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Henry Winkler is also attending this years MegaCon, Winkler is an American actor, comedian, author, executive producer, and director, although of course he is best known for his portrayal of Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on the American television series Happy Days. Also announced is Harry Power star Matthew Lewis, best known for portraying Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Mark-Paul Gosselaar, best know to fans of Saved by the Bell as Zack Morris will also be in attendance at this years convention. Gates McFadden best known for playing Dr. Beverly Crusher in the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series and in the four subsequent films will also be attending this years MegaCon. Another big name coming to Orlando for MegaCon this year is Sean Gunn, best know for playing Kraglin Obfonteri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this role, he has been in the films Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder , the television film The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 . He also played Weasel and Calendar Man in the Warner Bros./DCEU film The Suicide Squad. Brec Bassinger has also announced for this years MegaCon! Bassinger is best know for playing the titular role in the series Stargirl from DC Universe and The CW. Legendary director Sam Raimi is also appearing at this year's MegaCon Orlando. Raimi is the man behind your fave films, known for directing the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007) and the Evil Dead franchise (1981–present). He also directed the 1990 superhero film Darkman, the 1995 revisionist western The Quick and the Dead, the 1998 neo-noir crime-thriller A Simple Plan, the 2000 supernatural thriller film The Gift, the 2009 supernatural horror film Drag Me to Hell, and the 2013 Disney fantasy film Oz the Great and Powerful. Raimi has also produced several successful television series, including Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its spin-off Xena: Warrior Princess. He founded the production company Renaissance Pictures in 1979 and Ghost House Pictures in 2002. His latest film, the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was released on May 6, 2022, becoming his highest grossing film at the box office. Also announced for this years convention is a bounty of six Star Wars legends. Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze) and Emily Swallow (The Armorer) from The Mandalorian, Vivien Lyra Blair, who played young Princess Leia in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ashley Eckstein, who played Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars animated series. MegaCon Orlando have also announced that the original and much loved host of Blues Clues, Steve Burns is heading to Orlando for this year's MegaCon. He is best known as the original host of the long-running children's preschool television program Blue's Clues from 1996 until 2002, for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2001. With tickets now on sale, Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike) and Ethan Peck (Spock) from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, are coming to this years MegaCon Orlando Anson Mount is an American actor known for his television roles as fictional character Cullen Bohannon in the AMC western drama series Hell on Wheels, Jim Steele on NBC series Conviction, the Marvel Comics superhero Black Bolt in Marvel's Inhumans, and Captain Christopher Pike in season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. Ethan Peck is an American actor currently playing Spock in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery. He is the grandson of a Hollywood legend, Gregory Peck. More recently he accepted the role of Herman Ackermann on the series Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels. - Central Florida Beach named SECOND most deadly in the nation!
In a recent analysis looking at surf fatalities, hurricane frequency, and shark attacks, Central Floda's very own Cocoa Beach came in at number two in the U.S. Florida featured heavily in the Travel Lens America’s 10 Deadliest Beaches to visit list, with seven Florida beaches named in the Top 10. The beach given the dubious title of America's deadliest beach was Florida’s New Smyrna Beach, probably well deserved considering that since 2010, New Smyrna Beach has faced 10 surf zone fatalities and more shark attacks than any other beach at 32. This was more than twice as many as any other US beach. The coastal town has also been hit with 120 hurricanes between 1851 and 2020. Our very own local beach, Cocoa Beach has been named second most deadly beach, which has had as many surf zone fatalities as shark attacks, with a total of seven. Ass for the amount of hurricanes, Cocoa has had the same as nearby New Smyma, 120 hurricanes. Where are America's most dangerous beaches? - Celebrate Soulfully During Black History Month at Walt Disney World
As February begins, Walt Disney World is offering guests new and traditional ways to Celebrate Soulfully during Black History Month. The resort is offering guests a variety of experiences to celebrate, educate and honor Black heritage and culture throughout the resort. From art to food to music and more, there are many opportunities to feel soulful, including several new ones debuting in February. With the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in full swing, you’ll have the chance to meet two of the Black artists featured in this year’s festival lineup. From February 3-5, Kahran and Regis Bethencourt, founders of CreativeSoul Photography, will be at The American Adventure pavilion to showcase their reimagined visions of classic Disney princesses through dolls, costumes, and photographic prints. And for the first time ever, there will be a gallery exhibit featuring life-sized dresses and natural hair styled wigs seen in their photographic prints. Black Broadway performers will be featured during the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series on various dates between February 4 – 19. They include: L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King) Kissy Simmons (The Lion King) Michael James Scott (Aladdin) The already colorful and diverse Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression will receive two new additions by Black artists, and they will both paint their work live during Black History Month. Ernest Shaw and Nneka Jones will join the likes of Everett Spruill and David Anthony Geary. By the end of February, you will be able to celebrate the work of four Black artists on the Art Walk, showcasing the ongoing commitment to diversity and representation at Walt Disney World. This February, Black music will take centerstage with Black musicians featured on all three main Disney Springs stages on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday nights. - The Dragon Vault, a new fantasy themed restaurant set to magically appear in Sanford
Dragons are going to be making their way downtown Sanford, as The Dragon Vault, a fully immersive, fantasy-themed restaurant, will soon be opening in . What's a fantasy-themed restaurant you may ask? Think Dungeons and Dragons, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, and you will probably be half way there! When you walk through the door, you are going to be entering another world, with the owners promising a theme park quality environment. The new restaurant will include a full-service bar, and and is scheduled to open later this year. According to The Orlando Business Journal, the restaurant will take up around 5000 square feet, occupying an iconic bank building at 101 E 1st St. that was built in 1923. The design of the new restaurant will incorporate the actual bank vault into the restaurant's design, hence the name of the restaurant, The Dragon Vault! The restaurant will also feature a fire pit where chef's will cook the restaurants meat and vegetables. The name behind the new ventures is the League of Extraordinary Dinning LLC, who also run the popular Nautilus Coffee, Argonaut Bar, and Batter Bar, all located here in Central Florida.

Walt Disney World are continuing to ramp up it's entertainment offering throughout the resort including the return of character meet and greets that had been shuttered since the resort was forced to close due to the covid outbreak. The latest boost to the resort's entertainment sees the return of much loved characters as well as the addition of new meet and greets to Hollywood Studios. Walt Disney World have shared the schedule for the characters that you can now meet in the park. The characters meet daily at the following times: Goofy & Powerline Max on Grand Avenue AM: 9:15, 9:4, 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45 PM: 12:15, 12:45, 2:15, 2:45, 3:15, 3:45, 4:15, 4:45 Mr. & Mrs. Incredible at Echo Lake AM: 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30 PM: 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 2:30, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00 The new Frozone and Edna Mode sighting on the lawn near Keystone Clothiers and Dockside Diner do not have any listed meet and greet times. The character will be rotating from 9 am to 5 pm. No date or times have been revealed for when Chip and Dale will be joined by new chipmunk Clarice!

Universal Orlando Resort has launched a brand new ticket offer for U.S. and Canada residents. Guests who purchases a 3-Day, 2-Park ticket will get two additional theme park days free. Starting as low as $234.99 per adult, plus tax, this offer allows guests to enjoy five adventure filled days of unlimited access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme parks. Plus, for only $35 more, guests can upgrade their ticket to include admission to Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park during the 5 day period of the ticket. The ticket offer is valid for any five calendar days during an eight consecutive calendar day period which commences on and includes the date selected. - Yet More Disney After Hours Events Sold Out at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Yet more 2023 Disney After Hours events at Walt Disney World are now sold out, with the nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios proving to be much more popular than the nights at Magic Kingdom. Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios is now completely sold out for the entire month of February 2023. At Hollywood Studios only six dates remain not sold out, March 8, 22, 29, April 2, 5, 19 2023. Interestingly, over at Magic Kingdom, only the opening night on January 9 has sold out, with none of the remaining available dates sold out. Available dates at Magic Kingdom: February 16, 20, 27, March 2, 6, 13, 16, 20, 27 2023. Disney After Hours, are late-night, separately ticketed events that let you enjoy a Walt Disney World theme park for three additional hours after regular park hours, with treats such as ice cream, popcorn and select beverages included. The number of tickets for these events is limited, which means lower wait times for attractions. At Magic Kingdom Park, this means you can enjoy more than 20 popular attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can pilot the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, ride through a zany cartoon adventure in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, shrink to the size of a toy in Toy Story Land and more. With Disney After Hours tickets, you can enter the park where the event is taking place as early as 7 p.m. giving you the opportunity to get a jump on the fun! Disney After Hours admission is a separately priced ticket not included with regular daytime park admission. The Cocoa Village Brewer’s Bash takes place this Saturday, February 4, overlooking the beautiful Indian River in Cocoa Village. The event takes place in Cocoa Riverfront Park with over 65+ breweries for you to enjoy this year. As always this is a family and pet-friendly open event with 6 food trucks offering a variety of delicious cuisine. Tickets are $50 and get you unlimited tastings of local beer & cider along with a commemorative sample glass to drink them out of. This is an open event everyone is welcome! Tickets are only required for those who want to enjoy unlimited beer and cider sampling from 1-5 pm. Live music will be provided by Alter Ego playing your favorite rock and country cover songs. T reats for your pup will be available for purchase to benefit a local dog rescue group by Tails at the Barkery. This event is rain or shine. Tickets are available online, or in person at the Dirty Oar Beer Company located at 329 King St. in Cocoa as well as at the Village Idiot Pub located at 4 Harrison St. in Cocoa. Your ticket gets you a sample cup, wristband and unlimited samples from the participating breweries and cider works. All proceeds benefit the Survive First Foundation. They are a 501C3 non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce First Responder suicide through quality education, peer support and mental health and wellness resources.
