- Here we go again... Rumours point to Main Street Electrical Parade returning to Magic Kingdom!
Rumours have surfaced once again that Walt Disney World is getting a nighttime parade once again Personally would love more than anything for this to be true, and we think the majority of Walt Disney Guests would agree, and it's beyond belied that Magic Kingdom has been without a nighttime parade since 2010!!!! For those of you like us that remembers Magic Kingdom back in the day when it had a nighttime parade, there was nothing quite like the atmosphere in the park on those magical nights, especially when two performances were scheduled per night!! Ahhh the good old days of an 11 pm parade in MK! Seriously Disney, come on already, give us a nighttime parade!!!!!! Now this is the part when we should say any parade would do, and if the rumours are true we could once again see the resurrection of the Main Street Electrical Parade on Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom, BUT for real? Could the parade even make it from Cali? The thing is held together with duct tape!! The Main Street Electrical Parade last ran at Disneyland in 2022 for the parade’s 50th anniversary. A new float and additional improvements were made to the parade at that time. The rumours say that The Main Street Electrical Parade will return to Disneyland this summer for a seasonal run and then head east to Walt Disney World. We genuinely hope the parade will survive that long!! Could we not just get a new parade... PLEASE!!!! BUT if the rumours are true, then yes of course we would be delighted with any parade, Main Street Electrical Parade is magical with a wonderful soundtrack, honestly if you've never experienced a nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom then wow you will be blown away. WE GUESS WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT PANS OUT.... - Are you ready to begin? Meet the artists extending the Happily Ever After story to Main Street USA
Are you "ready to begin?" Meet the artists extending the Happily Ever After story beyond the castle walls when it returns April 3! The words “the story comes alive” will soon be heard echoing through Magic Kingdom Park once again when Happily Ever After returns soon. For the team of Disney Live Entertainment artists working to bring the story to life in a whole new way, those words are more than just lyrics. They are an assignment. For months, over 50 digital artists and animators have been hard at work behind the scenes creating stunning new projections that will surround guests on Main Street, U.S.A. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would work on a show as iconic and beloved as ‘Happily Ever After.’ It was so exciting to look at the show with fresh eyes and take advantage of technology that we didn’t have available when it first opened,” said Katrina Mena Rick, Creative Producer for the nighttime spectacular. “Each of the 25 buildings we’re projecting on is so unique and special, with their own individual paint colors, textures, trims, windows, and doors. Our goal was to celebrate that uniqueness as we transformed the buildings, immersing you in these beautiful character worlds while ensuring that Cinderella Castle remains the main storyteller throughout the show.” Moments after the show begins you’ll see this expertly choreographed dance play out, as if the stories are radiating from the castle and then drawing you back in – all building to a shimmering finale where Tinker Bell takes flight. The team used this final hero moment to introduce some fresh faces to the show, with new characters adorning the street in stylized stained-glass portraits. “My favorite character to create was Meilin from Pixar’s ‘Turning Red.’” said J.P. Perez, the artist tasked with illustrating all 32 of the characters featured on the building’s facades. “Beyond red pandas being my favorite animal, her character is very relatable. Seeing her story take place in my generation at that age really makes me connect with her.” With the addition of Miguel, Mirabel, Raya, Luca, Rapunzel, Elena and more, the goal is that everyone watching can find a connection with a character or story. Each of the artists working on the show also brought with them their own stories as well, like Lead Animator Ana Beltran, who had the unique experience of animating the new projections alongside her father. “I grew up seeing how much love and passion my dad had for animation, and how hard he worked when we moved to the United States. That’s what ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in the arts.” said Ana. “We often joked how great it would be for us to say one day that ‘Making magic is the family business.’ Now, just like in the show, we’ve followed that dream and made it a reality. To borrow a term from “Inside Out,” working on this show with my dad will always be a core memory for me.” As always, keep checking back with us here at Gotta Go Orlando as we continue to bring you the latest news and information from around Orlando and Central Florida You can also discover our latest news, views, and more on our socials, follow Gotta Go Orlando on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The 10 winning parks, determined by your vote, will be announced on Friday, May 5. Read on for which Central Florida Theme parks have been nominated! CENTRAL FLORIDA BEST THEME PARK NOMINEES Vote for SeaWorld Orlando Best Theme Park Most famous as a marine zoological park, SeaWorld Orlando has made a name for itself in the world of high-octane thrill rides as well, including Manta – one of the only coasters of its kind in the world – and Mako, a hyper coaster with deep dives, high speeds and thrills aplenty. Young visitors can now walk down Sesame Street and interact with their favorite furry friends. Vote for Magic Kingdom Best Theme Park The Magic Kingdom, the Florida version of the original Disneyland, was the first Walt Disney World park to open. It's divided into six themed "lands" with some of the same attractions that have made Disney a household name when it comes to theme parks: Space Mountain, It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise, among others. Newer attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run showcase the ongoing creative efforts of Disney's Imagineers. Vote for EPCOT Theme Park Best Theme Park Originally the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, EPCOT offers 305 acres of amusements and attractions divided into two main areas: Future World and the World Showcase. The World Showcase, a world's fair-like park, takes visitors on a tour of 11 countries around the world, where they can participate in Oktoberfest in Germany, visit Elsa and her Frozen friends in Norway or get a 360-degree view of China. "This new park was created perfectly for the little ones (although the older kids will love it too)," says expert Nikky J. A near neighbor of Florida's LEGOLAND park, the Peppa Pig Theme Park is a mix of mild thrill rides, like Grampy Rabbit's Dinosaur Adventure and Daddy Pig's Roller Coaster that draw their themes from the TV show, and attractions, such as a carnival midway with all-free games and the George's Fort maze. There's also a cinema where families can take a break from the sun to watch their favorite episodes of Peppa Pig on the big screen. Vote for Universal Studios Florida Best Theme Park Universal Studios Florida has changed drastically since its debut in 1990, with only a couple of attractions remaining in their original form. While live filming doesn't happen here anymore, the park still offers a thrilling cinematic experience, with attractions and sections of the park dedicated to Minions, Transformers and Men in Black (among others). Vote for Universal's Islands of Adventure Best Theme Park Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando is a feast for the eyes, divided into themed zones featuring high-tech, high-octane thrills around every turn. What started out as a little sister park to Universal Studios Florida truly became a destination in itself with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where visitors are immersed in a land inspired by J.K.
