    Emily Calandrelli (“The Space Gal”) officially kicked off Holidays at LEGOLAND, with the park announcing Galacticoaster is opening February 27, 2026 LEGOLAND Florida Resort blasted off the holiday season with an intergalactic celebration that not only illuminated the Park’s iconic 30-foot-tall LEGO Christmas Tree but also revealed the official opening for the Resort’s all-new indoor family space-themed rollercoaster, Galacticoaster, launching on February 27, 2026.   Emily Calandrelli, acclaimed science communicator, beloved TV host, aerospace engineer, and the 100th woman in space, took center stage to lead the countdown.     Orange County Government and the Hispanic Heritage Network invite the community to a Holiday Celebration filled with music, flavor, and culture. Orange County Government, in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Network of Orange County , invites the Central Florida community to Fiesta on the Lawn: Lighting Up the Season Latin Style, a holiday celebration with music, flavors, and traditions from Latin and Hispanic cultures. The free event will take place Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm on the Orange County Administration Center lawn.   • USF and Old Dominion to play in the 2025 StaffDNA Cure Bowl in Orlando on December 17

    The Cure Bowl is an NCAA football bowl game played in Orlando. Funds raised from the game and ancillary events directly benefit Cancer Research. The University of South Florida (USF) Bulls will face Old Dominion's Monarchs in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl, with the matchup taking place on Wednesday, December 17 at 5 pm EST at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The annual bowl game, which supports groundbreaking cancer research by raising millions of dollars, takes place each year through the Orlando Sports Foundation. "We're thrilled to see the Bulls and the Monarchs take the field at this year's StaffDNA Cure Bowl. The game brings together the passion of college football with a purpose that unites teams, healthcare professionals, researchers and survivors in the fight against cancer," said Sheldon Arora, CEO of StaffDNA. "StaffDNA's technology is strengthening the connections between job seekers and hospitals, ultimately leading to better patient care. We're honored to support an event that celebrates teamwork, strengthens communities, and has a meaningful impact for so many."   • New restaurant, Osteria Ester soft opens in Orlando's Thornton Park District

    Osteria Ester, a new Italian inspored restaurnat is set to open in the South Eola district just in time for the holidays. Good Salt Restaurant Group is expanding again, with its latest restaurant concept, Osteria Ester set to open in Thronton Park this month. Jason and Sue Chin are the husband-and-wife team behind Good Salt Restaurant Group, the creative force behind some of Orlando's most celebrated dining concepts, including The Osprey, Reyes Mezcaleria, Seito Sushi, and the recently opened Sparrow Wine Bar will soft open Osteria Ester just in time for the busy holiday period on December 9. Osteria Ester takes over the space which was the former home of Soco, the contemporary Southern restaurant fronted by chef Greg Richie for 11 years at 629 E Central Blvd, Orlando. At the time that Soco closed last May, Richie hinted that something exciting would be taking its place, and together with Jason and Sue Chin, and the Good Salt Restaurant Group, Osteria Ester will l offer a full dinner service, together with a lunch menu and coffee at the bar throughout the day. The kitchen at the new neighborhood restaurant will be overseen by Michael Cooper, executive chef-partner of The Osprey. The Downtown Arts District is excited to announce the return of the hit New Year’s Eve celebration, “Midnight on Magnolia,” on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at CityArts in Orlando from 9pm to 1am.  Presented by Valley Bank , this fun and fresh event—selling out in in its inaugural year—offers an elevated, artistic atmosphere, perfect for young professionals and the young at heart looking for a unique way to ring in the New Year in Orlando.   With the Magnolia flower as its centerpiece, Midnight on Magnolia offers a refreshing alternative to the typical New Year’s Eve bar and club scene in Downtown Orlando.  The glittering event showcases the vibrant culture and history of the Downtown Arts District.   • Rosen Shingle Creek hosts annual nonprofit Holiday Celebration “A Tree-Mendous Affair”

    Visitors and families are invited to explore Shingle Creek's festive forest and vote on their favorite tree, decorated by local non-profit organizations. Rosen Hotels & Resorts is once again hosting its popular Central Florida holiday tradition, “A Tree-Mendous Affair.” This annual celebration features holiday trees decorated by some of the area’s most giving nonprofit organizations on display at Rosen Shingle Creek throughout the holiday season.   This free event has welcomed thousands of visitors who make it part of their family holiday celebrations. Participating nonprofits will decorate festive trees, which are then relocated to the halls of Rosen Shingle Creek for all to come by and enjoy.
