These vernacular objects, often decorative, utilitarian, or absurd, offer an unfiltered glimpse into a time when Florida’s identity was shaped by tourism and fantasy. The exhibition presents over 130 objects from the collection of Gary Monroe.

The Orlando Sentinel Turns 150, a pocket exhibit showcasing photographs, archival materials, and artifacts from our collection that reflect the paper’s long presence in the region. This exhibit invites visitors to encounter original materials that highlight how the Sentinel has been read, experienced, and remembered across generations.

As the first in a series of installations leading to the opening of the Rollins Museum of Art’s new facility, it engages viewers in a thoughtful dialogue about identity, community, and the spaces we inhabit.

September 25 - January 3
