Hollerbach’s German Restaurant located at 205 E 1st St, Sanford, have announced that they will not be hosting their usual Oktoberfest celebration this year. The restaurant say that running the much loved event is no longer possible due to increasing costs associated with putting the event on. This year in lieu of hosting its own Oktoberfest event this year, Hollerbach's is set to bring its signature culinary delights to various Oktoberfest celebrations throughout Central Florida. "We are absolutely delighted to join the Oktoberfest celebrations across Central Florida," said Christina Hollerbach, CEO of Hollerbach's German Restaurant. "Our team is committed to providing an unforgettable experience filled with delicious food, lively music, and the warm camaraderie that defines Oktoberfest." In reference to canceling their own Oktoberfest event, Hollerbach's say that they want to work with the city of Sanford to find new ways to celebrate Oktoberfest in Sanford. The next time your are at Walt Disney World and you have a thirst, and you don't want to spill your drink, you gotta ask for a straw and lid with your drink! Walt Disney World have announced that from August 21, if your dining at quick service restaurants, food courts, and pool bars will notice that paper straws and plastic lids will no longer be available for cold drinks (lids for hot beverages will continue to be provided), and if you want a straw and lid, they will only be available upon request. New signage encouraging guests to reduce their straw and lid usage will be placed near beverage fountains, cash registers, and refreshment coolers. Exciting news as Zymarium Meadery get ready to throw open the doors for the first time, this weekend at 1121 N Mills Ave. in the Milk District. Joe and Ginger Leigh, owners of Zymarium Meadery, will officially open the doors to their venture, tomorrow, Saturday, August 19 in the Mill 50 District at 1121 N Mills Ave. As Joe and Ginger are expecting the grand opening party to be very busy they will be handing out colored wristbands to allow groups to enter the tasting room in two-hour blocks, starting at noon and running until midnight. The grand opening party will include 18+ different meads on tap, special one-off kegs, limited bottles for sale, and amazing food trucks! The business has been a long time in the planning and although the couple had hoped to have the meadowy open in 2022, its great to know that Zymarium Meadery is finally open. To get the business up and running, Joe and Ginger ran a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised $44,568 towards opening their meadery. Walt Disney World have revealed that the new interactive attraction Journey of Water Inspired by "Moana" which is set to open this fall at EPCOT will include an option where you do not get wet! Walt Disney World have revealed that the new Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” experience at EPCOT will have both a wet and dry path, so you can decide whether to get wet or not when experiencing the resorts latest attraction. Its also thought that the experience will NOT include any MagicBand+ interactions as first teased by Disney. In the latest info from Disney that is now live on a page for the experience on the Walt Disney World website, there is no mention of any MagicBand+ interactions. Earlier this week Walt Disney World revealed the logo for the new attraction, and also shared new details on what Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” will include. The attraction which is a walk-through, self-guided outdoor trail where you can play with water is scheduled to open this fall. It was reported that earlier today, Friday, 28 people had been trapped on the popular Tower of Terror ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. WFTV first reported earlier today in an article on its website that, Reedy Creek Fire Department had responded to a call at Disney's Hollywood Studios Friday afternoon, August 18. 28 people were reportedly trapped in one of the elevators/ride vehicles at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride, with WFTV reporting that guests were trapped on the ride for around 45 minutes before being evacuated. In the initial news article from WFTV, they reported that firefighters from Reedy Creek Fire Department had helped with the evacuation of the 28 riders, but then changed the article to say that "it is unknown if the fire department ever responded to the ride to help with the evacuation." Then in a further update to the original article, WFTV reported that Reedy Creek Fire Department did not respond to the ride to help with the evacuation. Following WFTV changing its original article three times, the outlet has since removed the article entirely. While its true that 28 people were trapped on the ride, and the ride was temporarily down, all guests were safely evacuated from the ride by Cast Members as per usual protocols, with no injuries reported. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has since reopened following the incident, showing a wait time on the My Disney Experience App of 145 minutes. Walt Disney World have announced that the Liberty Square Riverboat will be closed from Monday, August 21 through Tuesday, August 29, reopening to guests on Wednesday, August 30. The Colonial-era Liberty Belle riverboat at Magic Kingdom offers guests a half-mile tour around Tom Sawyer Island. This years Howl-O-Scream features five haunted houses and six scare zones, with a concoction of new haunted houses and scare zones as well as returning fan favorites. New house this year is D.H. Baggum’s Circus of Fear, together with a re-imagined The Forgotten: Uprising, and favourites including Stranglewood Estate, Witch of the Woods and The Residence: Home for the Holidays. There is two new scare zones this year, Sin City Zombies and Big Ed’s Demolition Derby, plus returning favourites include The Junkyard, Beyond the Veil, and Ravens Mill. Howl-O-Scream will also feature live entertainment, including a new show called Rock the Grave, plus Cirque X-Scream, and performances from The Rolling Bones at Dragon Fire Grill.
