Spirit Airlines cancels dozens of Orlando flights with impacts to passengers lasting several days

If you are due to fly with Spirit Airlines in or out of Orlando International Airport its best you check with the airline as multiple flight are being canceled, with the prospect that cancelations or delays could last days.

This morning, Friday, October 20, 2023, Spirit Airlines have canceled dozens of flight in and out of Orlando International Airport.

The airline say that the cancelations are necessary in order to perform aircraft inspections.

In a statement from the airline they say that delays due to the inspections could last several days, with passengers advised to advised to monitor their emails and check their flight status on spirit.com or the Spirit Airlines App before heading to the airport.

Spirit commented, "While this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution, the impact to our network is expected to last several days as we complete the inspections and work to return to normal operations. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to take care of affected Guests."

It is not know the reason for the inspections, but Spirit say that 25 jets are affected, a number that the airline say is only a small percentage of its overall fleet.
