  • Dick’s Last Resort gets ready to open in Orlando and Daytona Beach

Dick's Last Resort has given an update on its plans to open in Orlando and Daytona Beach. Dick’s Last Resort is returning to Orlando following a break of almost 8 years! The chain known for really good food, and really rude waiters, abruptly closed its Orlando location at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets in November 2016. Dick’s Last Resort, where sarcasm is always on the menu and customers should come with a sense of humor and a thick skin, is returning to Orlando, AND Daytona Beach, with the chain only month's away from opening, with construction underway at both locations. A spokesperson for the restaurant has confirmed to FOX 35 that the two new locations are now only months away from opening, with the Daytona Beach location opening in June within the Ocean Walk Shoppes, and the Orlando location at The Pointe on International Drive further behind, with an expected opening date of late 2024 or early 2025. From Rug-rats to old farts, from high class to no-class, from the top of the food chain, to the bottom of the barrel, its fun for all and all in fun for those who dare to enter! Sit back and watch, or join in the fun. Famous for deliciously messy cuisine, oddly entertaining décor, rowdy and unpredictable service, live bands and let-loose atmosphere. Dick's Last Resort will offer a casual, down-to-earth entertainment option for locals and visitors to Orlando, and Daytona Beach. Dick’s has always been known for its outrageous, surly, energetic wait staff who inflict humor upon their guests. Their atmosphere makes everyone feel like they’re temporarily breaking all the rules……and getting away with it. Sounds fun? If you can't wait for the new locations to open, you can visit Dick's in Fort Lauderdale. Click here for more information about Dick's Last Resort. While the April 8 eclipse is a total solar eclipse, Florida is not in the path of totality and will only experience about a 60% partial eclipse. The eclipse will begin at 1:46 pm, peak at 3:03 pm, and end at 4:17 pm While you can safely experience this phenomenon from anywhere (with proper eye protection, of course), there is number of solar eclipse viewing parties and celebrations in Orlando to celebrate this celestial event. It is never safe to look directly at the sun during an eclipse without specialized eye protection, this can cause severe retina damage! The livestream will take place from 1:30 pm to 3 pm with totality occurring around 2:53 pm. How To Safely Watch The Solar Eclipse During a solar eclipse, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. Viewing any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury. When watching the partial phases of the solar eclipse directly with your eyes, which happens before and after totality, you must look through safe solar viewing glasses or a safe handheld solar viewer at all times. Eclipse glasses are NOT regular sunglasses; regular sunglasses, no matter how dark, are not safe for viewing the Sun Always inspect your eclipse glasses or handheld viewer before use; if torn, scratched, or otherwise damaged, discard the device. Always supervise children using solar viewers. Do NOT look at the Sun through a camera lens, telescope, binoculars, or any other optical device while wearing eclipse glasses or using a handheld solar viewer — the concentrated solar rays will burn through the filter and cause serious eye injury. When Fabio was a child, he would learn the recipes of his family at the side of his beloved grandmother. She taught him the skills to make delicious pastas and the patience required to create the best sauces. These lessons serve as the basis of Fabio’s menus – fresh, rustic ingredients combined with passion and talent to produce exceptional dishes. One day, Fabio met a man in his grandmother’s kitchen. This man had heard rumors of her incredible dishes. She welcomed him into her home and served truly inspired meals, and he never forgot the way that experience made him feel. That man was Chuck Lager. Chuck and Fabio kept in touch and became great admirers of one another. They vowed to work together on a restaurant, which ultimately became Chuck Lager America’s Tavern. Look for them both to drop into the venues. Fabio will be the one with the Italian accent; Chuck will be the one with whatever accent he feels like at the time. This will be the tavern’s fourth location in Florida, and hopefully we will have news soon on when this exciting new addition to I-Drive will officially open.
