represent the first full month following the grand opening of Epic Universe on May 22” said Comptroller Diamond.
According to Visit Orlando, Orlando’s hotel occupancy in June rose 1.5% year-over-year to 73.5%, with demand increasing by an even greater margin of 3.4%. The Average Daily Rate (ADR) reached $196.70, reflecting a 4.2% increase from June 2024 ($188.70). Short-term rentals for Orlando saw a substantial increase in demand in June from last year (+18%), although ADR fell by 3%. Overall, June marked a solid start to the summer travel season, bolstered by the first full month of Universal’s Epic Universe being open and major events like the AAU’s Junior Volleyball National Championship running for several weeks in June. On the TDT reserve side, Renewal & Replacement Reserves (R&RR) increased by $13.3 million in June as shown in the attached “TDT Cash Reserve Summary”. The Other Authorized Uses Reserves, which is a component of the R&RR, is currently at $154 million.
This reserve will help offset some of the future expenses associated with recently approved projects and programs such as the Convention Center 5A expansion project (Convention Way Grand Concourse project), Camping World Stadium renovations, Arts and Application Review Committee (ARC) funding, and the UCF football stadium tower project.
