Popcorn Flicks in the Park returns to Winter Park with a free outdoor screening of Yankee Doodle Dandy

The City of Winter Park and Enzian Theater present the free monthly Popcorn Flicks in the Park series in Central Park.
The Popcorn Flicks in the Park series features classic films for the whole family. These films are usually held on the second Thursday of each month in Central Park, Winter Park.
The best part is that every movie night is free and open to the public! Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket, a picnic or snacks, and some family and friends to join the fun.
The latest Popcorn Flicks in the Park is perfect to continue your America 250 celebrations, with a screening of the all-time classic, Yankee Doodle Dandy! Taking place on Thursday, July 9 2026 at 8 pm, make your way to Central Park and enjoy the free screening of the 1942 American biographical musical drama film about George M. Cohan, starring James Cagney.
These outdoor screenings are dependent upon Florida’s famously unpredictable weather conditions. Organizers may wait until 30 minutes prior to the set screening time to officially post a cancellation notice; which will be posted on Enzian's Facebook. You may also call Enzian’s Box Office at 407-629-1088 x230 for more information, and if your screening is rained out – keep an eye out for a rain date!
Yankee Doodle Dandy
A musical portrait of composer/singer/dancer George M. Cohan. From his early days as a child-star in his family's vaudeville show up to the time of his comeback, at which he received a medal from the president for his special contributions to the United States, this is the life story of George M. Cohan, who produced, directed, wrote, and starred in his own musical shows for which he composed his famous songs. Starring James Cagney, Joan Leslie, and Walter Huston, and directed by Michael Curtiz.
