Orlando Science Center Opens Breathtaking New Astrophotography Exhibit

A stunning new astrophotography exhibit Capturing the Cosmos has taken up residence withing the Orlando Science Center.


This exhibit, which is on display now through January, 29, 2023, features a breathtaking selection of cosmic images by Derek Demeter, a renowned astrophotographer and director of the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College.

Discover Fusion: A STEAM Gallery on the third level, and features photographs of scenic nightscapes, celestial bodies within space, colorful nebulae and expansive galaxies uniquely shot from Florida on a small telescope and a digital SLR camera.


“Demeter wants this show to capture the audience’s imagination and unlock a passion for the night sky. He hopes it inspires an appreciation and respect for our night sky and encourages people to preserve our dark spaces for generations to come,” according to the Orlando Science Center.


Capturing the Cosmos is included with general admission to Orlando Science Center, which is $24 for adults and $18 for children under the age of 11.
