This Access for All marks one of the final days to see the 11th Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition.

The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) is excited to announce its next Access for All event, presented in collaboration with the Art Bridges Foundation. On Thursday, August 21, guests can enjoy free admission to the museum from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This initiative highlights OMA’s continued commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can experience the transformative power of art.
“Our mission is to make art accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone in our community,” said Cathryn Mattson, CEO of OMA. “Whether it’s through free admission days or innovative partnerships, we’re continually working to break down barriers and open up new ways for all visitors to experience the power of art.”
August 21 is one of the final days the 11th Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition will be open to the public. For the first time in its history, the Florida Prize People’s Choice Award, which comes with a $5,000 prize, has been open to public voting throughout the summer. Thousands of visitors cast their votes in support of their favorite among the 10 outstanding contemporary artists, each of whom is being celebrated for their exceptional work. Now, the moment everyone has been waiting for is here.
At 6 p.m., AdventHealth will present the live announcement of the People’s Choice Award winner, unveiling the artist who captured the hearts of the public.
The museum will also celebrate its third low-vision event in collaboration with eSight by Gentex Corporation, a wearable assistive technology designed to help individuals with visual impairments lead active and independent lives.
Museum goers will have the opportunity to check out the eSight Go wearable device, free of charge, allowing them to see art like never before.

In addition to free admission, Access for All events feature guided tours and enriching gallery activities, providing visitors with opportunities to engage with art in a variety of ways. All are welcome to attend and experience the beauty and wonder of art in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
