Casselberry Latin Jazz and Art Festival returns Sept. 12 with headliners Nestor Torres and Fabiola Méndez
The free event at Lake Concord Park includes live jazz, Afro‑Puerto Rican music, together with dance performances and visual art experiences.
The City of Casselberry will host the annual Latin Jazz and Art Festival Saturday, Sept. 12, 5 to 9 p. at Lake Concord Park, 95 Triplet Lake Drive. The event brings an evening of live jazz, Afro‑Puerto Rican music and dance performances and visual art experiences to the Central Florida community.
Grammy winning flautist, Nestor Torres, will headline the event along with Emmy-nominated singer and composer Fabiola Méndez. Additionally, the festival will feature multiple food trucks and food vendors, with a focus on Latin cuisine, along with 20 product vendors offering a variety of goods.
Torres, a celebrated Puerto Rican flautist, has released 19 albums, including his Grammy winning 2001 release This Side of Paradise. His distinguished career includes four Latin Grammy nominations, one Grammy nomination and one Latin Grammy Award, as well as collaborations with major artists such as Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins, Dave Matthews, Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, Michel Camilo, Paquito D’Rivera and Arturo Sandoval.
Torres will be joined by many of his friends including Fabiola Méndez, whose music explores the culture and ancestry of her homeland of Puerto Rico. Méndez is known for her unique blend of genres, including folk, jazz, and Afro-Caribbean influences. Her music takes listeners on a journey through various identities, cultures, and roots.
Kalindá will open the event with a performance rooted in traditional Bomba. The ensemble is dedicated to preserving Afro‑Puerto Rican music and dance traditions in Central Florida.
During the concert, some of the area’s top Latin visual artists will showcase their work. Paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces will be on display in Casselberry City Hall, Art House, Art Center, and Sculpture House from 5 to 8 pm. These exhibits will kick off the City’s Latin Jazz and Art Festival, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Event times are subject to change.
