New York-native and multi-talented actress, writer, and producer Nora Lum – best known to the world as Awkwafina has been immortalized in wax, and visitors to Madame Tussauds Orlando will soon be able to meet the wax figure Awkwafina!
Nora Lum, who is best know as Awkwafina, is the latest big-name celebrity to be immortalized in wax courtesy of Madame Tussauds.
Following in the wax footsteps of Ariana Grande, Lady GaGa, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lopez, Awkwafina has met her TWO wax figures for the first time in her hometown Queens at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, once home to the historic New York World’s Fair, amidst stunning views of the globally recognized local landmark The Unisphere.
Known for her incredible talent and infectious charm, Awkwafina has taken the entertainment world by storm over the years, earning rave reviews for her performances in Warner Bros. now-classic film Crazy Rich Asians and her hit Comedy Central series Nora From Queens. In 2020 she won the Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical’ for her performance in Lulu Wang's The Farewell.
One of the two wax figures of Awkwafina is coming to Madame Tussauds Orlando, located at ICON Park on International Drive.
The wax figure coming to Orlando is dressed in a red two-piece suit, a white vest and flora shoes that were all donated by Awkwafina. The wax double also features two necklaces, hoop earrings and a gold clutch.
Creating Awkwafina’s wax figures was a meticulous process involving a team of 20 Madame Tussauds artists in London who took approximately nine months, collaborating closely with Awkwafina and her team of makeup artists and hairstylists to ensure precision in capturing her exact measurements, hair color, eye color, skin tone, and complexion.

Awkwafina has made a significant impact in the entertainment world. Her performances in movies like “Crazy Rich Asians” and her hit series “Nora From Queens” have earned her rave reviews. In 2020, she won a Golden Globe Award for “Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical” for her role in “The Farewell.” She recently voiced the character Scuttle in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid.”
“The ability for this to happen to me is just really cool, to be, as you guys say, immortalized in wax. One is going to be living in the New York City location…so to know that I’m going to be in my hometown is a huge honor,” Awkwafina said.
The new wax figure will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds Orlando in mid-November.
