New Disney-Themed Brooks Running Shoes unveiled at Walt Disney World Resort

The first limited-edition shoe drop from Brooks x runDisney has been revealed, featuring four styles inspired by the race weekend theme and iconic Disney characters.

In an eagerly-awaited debut Wednesday that featured colorful streamers, Disney characters and an elaborate curtain drop, runDisney and Brooks unveiled their first collection of Disney-themed Brooks running shoes ahead of the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort.

The collection involves shoes themed around Disney’s two most iconic characters – Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse – plus a runDisney shoe and a runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend shoe.

The runDisney shoe is Brooks’ Adrenaline GTS 24 model and the others are Brooks’ Ghost Max 2 model. The shoes go on sale Thursday at the race weekend’s Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World.

The shoes represent the first significant collaboration between runDisney and Brooks since they announced a multi-year relationship last year. The two running brands plan to release a new collection of Brooks shoes at upcoming runDisney events, starting with the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend in early September.

The runDisney race series includes six race weekends between Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, plus virtual races, and is among the largest in the United States with more than 170,000 runners annually participating in its races.

Each race weekend features a 5K, 10K, 10-miler or half marathon, challenge events (e.g. 10K and a half marathon) and a health and fitness expo, plus yoga, kids races and post-race parties at select race weekends. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January also offers a full 26.2-mile marathon.
