Movie Trash at The Nook presents HOBGOBLINS! The worst Gremlins rip-off ever made

Hobgoblins is a 1988 American very, very low-budget independent comedy horror film directed, written, and produced by Rick Sloane, and yeah its just a big huge rip off of Gremlins!

The Nook at E. Robinson St, Orlando

On Saturday, August 10 at 8 pm, Movie Trash at The Nook located at 2432 E. Robinson St, Orlando presents Hobgoblins.

The plot of Hobgoblins features small, cheaply designed and made hobgoblins (small demon-like mythical and goblin-like creatures), but the plot doesn’t matter. What does matter is the characters are poorly written, the costumes are cartoonishly 80s, and the mosters are very clearly rubber puppets. It is all pretty awesome.

Hobgoblins

There a million rip-offs of Gremlins throughout the 80s and 90s (Troll, Critters, Munchie, Ghoulies... just to name a few) but none approached the level of hilariously inept filmmaking of HOBGOBLINS!

With a whopping 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, this 1988 gem follows a group of kids battling little furry creatures that escape a vault on a movie studio backlot, because… sure, why not?

The movie is regarded as one of the worst films ever made, so... of course it's perfect for Movie Trash at The Nook!

Is the movie good? Of course not, it is really bad! That is why The Nook is showing it. But you can be assured that you will enjoy it.

Movie Trash at The Nook presents TIPTOES

Bring a chair if you have one (The Nook has seating, but it is limited). As with all Movie Trash at The Nook screenings, it is free and open to the public, however, if you’d like to throw Orlando Pop-Up Movie Services a few bucks in the tip jar, that would be amazing.
