Walt Disney World has provided an update on the upcoming changes to the park pass reservation system at the resort effective January 9, 2024.

As previously announced, from January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for guests visiting Walt Disney World with date-based 1-day tickets, date-based multi-day tickets, or vacation packages with date-based tickets.
Guests with existing theme park reservations with a date-based ticket on or after Jan. 9, 2024, will have theme park reservations automatically removed as reservations are no longer necessary and have been removed from the My Plans section in My Disney Experience.
Guests have been notified via e-mail that a reservation is no longer required to enter the theme parks on the date of their visit and no additional action is required.
Plus, guests planning a theme park visit after Jan. 9, 2024 using date-based tickets will no longer be required, or able to make a theme park reservation on the Walt Disney World website.

For your information we have provided brief details on the current Walt Disney World theme park reservation requirements, and the new requirement from January 9, 2024.
Park Pass Reservation Requirements Until January 8 2024
Through January 8, 2024, to enter a theme park, both a theme park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required for Guests ages 3 and older.
Prior to purchasing admission, be sure to check reservation availability. Theme park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the theme park reservation is finalized. Once you purchase, you can make your theme park reservation(s).

1-day ticket with Park Hopper option or Park Hopper Plus option
Reservation required. If you purchase a 1-day ticket for a specific date and theme park with the Park Hopper option or the Park Hopper Plus option, you will need to make a theme park reservation for the first park you plan to visit.
