Could You Design A New Bus Wrap For Orange County?

Orange County officials are putting out a call for artists to design a bus wrap be used on a luxury coach bus!

Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with GoPegasus and United Arts of Central Florida, are asking for designs in the trompe l’oeil style, which uses two-dimensional art to create the illusion of three-dimensional space.

Organizers hope the new design will encourage viewers to take photos with the vehicle.

Artwork must be submitted in a digital media format and should be representative of the Central Florida arts and culture scene.

Artwork must be “Instagrammable,” using a trompe l’oeil effect to give greater depth to the work.

The completed artwork will serve as background to entice people to take photos and selfies.

All applications are due by Wednesday, December 14, for details visit the Trompe L’oeil Art Advocacy Bus Wrap Design webpage.

You may have already spotted some Art On Wheels out and about on the roads of Central Florida, as Orlando's luxury bus company GoPegasus have multiple 'moving canvases' on many of their buses already!

Orlando Magic Art on Wheels by Mauro Souza

GoPegasus launched Art on Wheels as a showcase to display local, Central Florida artists’ creations as never seen before, on a moving canvas... their buses, transformed into the ultimate moving art canvas for talented artists to devise the perfect creation – all visible to the world as passengers are transported from place to place.

Born out of the passion for the Arts, Art on Wheels was the brainchild of Fernando Pereira and Claudia Menezes, owners of GoPegasus.

The Central Florida business owners had often played with the idea of wrapping the bus windows with corporate logos but wanted something more iconic and meaningful to grace the giant canvases available to them, now their fleet of buses are traveling art pieces that enrich the community and serve as mobile inspiration on the roads well travelled.
