It has emerged that the city of Orlando has stepped up to end the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Pulse Nightclub property, with plans to create a permanent and fitting memorial to the 49 Angles who tragically lost their lives at the site.

At long last it looks like the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the site of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy will be over soon, with the city of Orlando announcing that they are to purchase the property from the current owners with plans to create a permanent memorial to the 49 Angles who tragically lost their lives.
The proposed land purchase will go before the City Council for approval on October 23, 2023, and if the deal goes through, city of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer confirmed that the site will be used for a memorial to honor the victims killed in the Pulse nightclub shooting.
It has been more that seven years since the tragedy, and the city are stepping in to ensure that the victims, their families, survivors, and the city has a lasting memorial located on the Pulse site.
Mayor Dyer commented that purchasing the site is the best and most appropriate way to expedite the creation of a proper memorial for the Pulse tragedy.
Dyer commented, "We recently met with some families of the victims, and survivors of the Pulse tragedy, who shared their desire for a permanent memorial at the Pulse site. To expedite the creation of a lasting memorial to honor the 49 angels, the City of Orlando is pursuing purchasing the site."
Orange County Mayor, Jerry L. Demings said that Orange County would be meeting with the onePULSE Foundation to discuss the counties current investment in the proposed museum, and expressed his appreciation to the city of Orlando for buying the Pulse property.
Demings commented, “Today’s news will hopefully bring some measure of comfort to the Pulse survivors, and to the families and loved ones of the 49 Angels. When the site becomes a permanent memorial, it will be a place for reflection and love. I want to express my appreciation to the City of Orlando for stepping up to bring resolution to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the site of the tragedy. Let us never forget and learn to value each other despite our differences. It will be through moving forward that we continue to honor the legacy of those we lost."
