While You Were Sleeping is a 1995 American romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman.
Movie Night at Leu Gardens is back for 2026 on Friday, February 6.
Join Leu Gardens for a magical evening under the stars as they present a romantic outdoor movie night surrounded by the beauty of the Gardens.
Snuggle up with your sweetheart, friends, or family with a cozy blanket and enjoy an outdoor rom-com movie in the gardens featuring While You Were Sleeping.
Released on 1995, While You Were Sleeping is a romantic comedy directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Daniel G. Sullivan and Fredric Lebow.
It stars Sandra Bullock as Lucy, a Chicago Transit Authority token collector, and Bill Pullman as Jack, the brother of a man whose life she saves, along with Peter Gallagher as Peter, the man who is saved, Peter Boyle and Glynis Johns as members of Peter's family, and Jack Warden as a longtime family friend and neighbor.
The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $182 million worldwide. Bullock and Pullman received praise for their performances. Bullock also garnered a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical

Patron should arrive 30 minutes prior to movie time due to location of the movie area in the gardens. Come early, gardens open at 6 pm.
Cost: $8 per adult, $6 per child (4-17 years of age), plus tax and online fees. Tickets are only available online starting February 2, 2026 until the gardens reach capacity. Children under 3 years of age are required to have a free ticket.
Leu Members receive free admission to all movie nights, Membership Card and ID required. Leu Members please make sure your membership is current and not expired. Members do not need a ticket. Space is limited, first come first serve basis. No Guest Passes. Not applicable to AHS or any Reciprocal Garden.
Parking:
Parking is free. If parking is full please park on main roads where it is legal or off Nebraska on Leu Gardens’ grass. Leu Members, please park in Member Lot until full.
Movie Etiquette:
For the enjoyment of all, please place cell phones on silence during the movie. Leu Gardens is smoke free.
