Trees? Check. Ribbons and stars? Double check. That can only mean one thing, preparations for the holidays are in full swing at Walt Disney World's Holiday Services – a special building at Walt Disney World filled to the brim with holiday decorations.
Preparation for the holidays is already in high gear at Walt Disney World Resort as The Most Magical Place On Earth gets ready to celebrate “the most wonderful time of year.” While planning and preliminaries culminate in fall, many Cast Members spend months – sometimes a full year – getting ready to spread seasonal cheer, especially at Walt Disney World Holiday Services.
It takes more than Santa’s elves to transform the four theme parks, resort hotels, Disney Springs and other locations across the Walt Disney World Resort with dazzling decor. That incredible feat is the work of Holiday Services.
This team of designers, decorators and other professionals ready more than 600 trees and 1,700 wreaths and hang nearly nine miles of garland each year. In fact, as soon as one holiday season wraps up, the Holiday Services team begins preparing for the next.
Whether creating new items or making sure that existing decor remains merry and bright, these talented specialists ensure that the entire resort sparkles.
Year after year, Walt Disney World is transformed into a whimsical wonderland with themed décor unparalleled by anything you’ve seen before, and it all happens in the blink of an eye, as if by magic!
While you may think its Santas Elves who transform the resort for the holidays, its actually all thanks to the cast members on the Holiday Services team, who work behind the scenes year-round to create picture-perfect trees, garlands and wreaths.
Disney's Holiday Services are located behind the Magic Kingdom in three massive warehouses.
The 3 warehouses have an estimated 40,000 finished pieces of décor, accommodating every season.
From planning to building to installing, these incredibly talented cast members oversee their creations from start to finish, ensuring no branch is left unfluffed and no ornament untouched.
The Holiday Services team plays a key role in making the parks, hotels and cruise ships feel festive even when it's more than 80 degrees outside.
The Holiday Services warehouses has everything from ornaments and figurines to the parks and resorts icon trees.
