Experience the dark side of the emerald isle as you enter the ancient village of Kerry Glenn: A small Irish hamlet where the veil has always been thin between the real world and the spirit realm. In times of famine, desperate townspeople upset the tender balance by hunting the Fae for food. They ransacked their fairy dwellings for treasures, looking for that elusive pot of gold. The Fae, in turn, schemed to find an innocent girl to deliver them from their plight. So they gifted their pot of gold to an innocent girl named Rose, in hopes of summoning their dark lord: the Leith Broghan, or Leipreachán. Rose could not believe her good fortune! So she wished, as instructed, to possess the pot of gold. But her elation soon turned to horror as she gazed into the pot’s gaping maw. Her newfound golden treasure morphed into putrid, rotting flesh; her wish chaining her soul to the ancient pot. Evil incarnate filled her empty vessel, bringing with it the most evil and malicious Fae to hunt for treasure to fill the voracious pot. And the most prized possession of all? The golden human soul. - Comfort Collars Removed and Height Requirement Reduced on Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando
Big Ice Breaker news from SeaWorld Orlando! The coaster which only opened just over a year ago on February 18, 2022, has been closed for some pretty major changes which is good news for riders who hated the comfort collars and for little kids who were not quite tall enough to ride. First up is the good news for kids, Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando has reopened following a period of downtime with its height requirement lowered from 54 inches to 48 inches, allowing many kids to now ride the coaster that previously could not! Leading up to the opening day of Ice Breaker last year, SeaWorld Orlando heavily marketed the coaster as a family coaster, and on opening day, Friday, February 18, the minimum height requirement was 48 inches, but over the following few days, the height requirement was quietly raised to 54 inches, stopping many kids from riding, effectively making the family coaster that was designed for families, to only be available to adults. Now, with this third change in heigh requirement, the family coaster can once again accommodate families, finally! The other big news is that the comfort collars are gone from the ride vehicles, and have been replaced with a seatbelt under the lap bar. The comfort collar was uncomfortable for many people, and a device that was actually pretty unnecessary for Ice Breaker, comfort collars are meant to provide nothing more than a feeling of added security, with the lap bar restraints doing 100% of the work to restrain riders. Now for added security, guests have the addition of an adjustable seatbelt under the lap bar restraint. Apart for greater rider comfort, removing the comfort collars will help with loading and unload times greatly, as the ride vehicles are much easier to enter and exit now. Another huge benefit of no comfort collar is that riders will now enjoy more airtime!! Check out Ice Breaker soon for yourself, and enjoy the difference. - Mickey Mouse brings Mobile Movie Theater, Disney Hospital Wear and Toys to young patients in Florida
Walt Disney World Resort and Starlight Children’s Foundation surprised patients at AdventHealth for Children, a part of AdventHealth Tampa, with some extra pixie dust on Friday, delivering a special mobile movie theater unit, character-themed hospital wear, toys and more as part of Disney’s global commitment to help reimagine the patient experience in children’s hospitals around the world. Mickey Mouse joined in the celebration at AdventHealth for Children along with Disney leaders and cast members as patients enjoyed an advanced screening of Disney On Ice presents Frozen & Encanto to mark the arrival of this new theater in a distinctly Disney way. “We know that a little Disney magic can go a long way in making someone’s day, and that’s exactly why events like these are so important to us,” said Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World Resort. “A hospital stay can often be overwhelming, and we hope these special deliveries will bring new happy memories, inspire hope and help build resilience for these patients and families across Florida and around the world.” The mobile movie theater unit will bring new releases and beloved classics to help create positive memories during a child’s time at the hospital, as well as immersive experiences and personal moments that deliver joy and comfort. Patients and families will be able to continue enjoying the latest Disney storytelling through complimentary Disney+ access and first run movies through Disney Movie Moments, both provided to child life professionals. “Our hearts are full knowing we can ease the burden and anxiety for our young patients and their families – at least for a little while,” said Bruce Bergherm, President and CEO of AdventHealth Tampa. “We believe in healing the whole person – body, mind and spirit – and this opportunity is exactly what our patients need as part of their recovery to feel whole.” This delivery from Walt Disney World Resort marks the first of six donations by Disney taking place in hospitals and nonprofit organizations across Florida throughout March, including: Wolfson Children’s Hospital at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation in Miami, Golisano Children’s Hospital of South West Florida in Ft. Myers, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg and Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee. Disney Cruise Line is making an additional five deliveries to hospitals in Florida and other port cities, with more taking place around the world throughout the year. This is all made possible by the company’s continued collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring the positive power of Disney stories to children’s hospitals, together. Through the collaboration, Starlight Children’s Foundation offers Disney-themed Starlight hospital wear, care packages and deliveries of toys and games to its nationwide network of children’s hospitals, including AdventHealth for Children. Used as engagement tools by child life specialists, these programs help young patients get through the stress of medical procedures and hospitalization. “We’re honored and grateful to have a longstanding relationship with Disney in helping us achieve our mission of delivering happiness to seriously ill kids and their families,” said Adam Garone, CEO of Starlight Children’s Foundation. “Together for over 20 years, we’ve been transforming the hospital experience through programs that entertain and provide comfort to kids at a time when they need it most.” These efforts build on Disney’s long legacy of supporting those in need and joins other recent initiatives like welcoming back regular character visits to our local Central Florida children’s hospitals. - Disney Genie+ reaches it's highest price point again as Walt Disney World readies for Spring Break
Here we go again! As Walt Disney World gets ready for a huge influx of guests celebrating Spring Break, the resort has raised the price of Genie+ to match its all-time high of $29 per person today, Sunday, March 12, 2023. This price was last seen during the high-crowd periods at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Presidents Day weekend. Genie+ is a cash machine for Disney, especially during busy periods, and with big crowds descending on Walt Disney World for Spring Break resulting in long lines for rides and attractions, the situation will force a large majority of guests to pay for the skip the line Genie+ to ensure that they can get on as many rides and attractions as possible during their visit to Walt Disney World. Disney introduced variable pricing for Genie+ towards the end of 2022, allowing the company to raise or lower the price depending on demand, so obviously with the parks being so busy this weekend, Disney have rammed the price up of the variable priced Genie+ to an all time high! The price of the service this weekend is currently set at $29, reaching the all-time high set during the peak 2022 holiday season. Since being introduced, the lowest price has been $15, with the peak being $29. Will we see the price go higher, possibly, and it would not be a surprise!
