  • Closing Date announced for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, will take guests on a wild ride across Hollywood with the Electric Mayhem – complete with backstage chaos, high-speed thrills, that signature Muppet humor… and an all-new Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure.  Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will not be starring Aerosmith for much longer with the rock band to be replaced by The Muppets in summer 2026, and you don't have much longer to catch a limo with the iconic rock band Aerosmith, with Walt Disney World announcing the closure date ahead of the ride being transformed into a new Muppets attraction. The indoor limo-themed roller coaster on  Sunset Boulevard, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close on March 2, 2026, with March 1, 2026, the last day to experience the ride in its current form. The preshow of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is already covered as Disney Imaginners prepare for the upcoming transition to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. The roads will be rockin’ and the party won't be stoppin’ when Scooter, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal and the Muppets gang take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios next year, and Walt Disney World has revealed that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be opening in Summer 2026. Check out the latest  theme park news and updates  from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The Muppets transformation begins in the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard. Legendary Muppet tycoon and owner of The Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, has purchased G-Force Records and has enlisted the help of his trusty nephew Scooter to run the place and completely transform the courtyard. A new psychedelic wrap will give the iconic red guitar marquee a groovy twist (inspired by a classic Muppet car paint job), and the piano motif at the base of the guitar will feature one gold key as a nod to a certain far-out band leader’s gold tooth.  Once inside the queue, VIP visitors will discover The Muppets band Electric Mayhem laying down new tracks inside the recording studio. Side by side with a dedicated team of penguin audio engineers, Scooter, in his capacity as band manager, will be trying hard to convince the Electric Mayhem to stop laying down tracks so they won’t be late to their own concert. This will be the first time Scooter has ever been imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure, and Scotter will not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction… but we’ll have to wait to learn more about that.    With help from Muppet Labs (and a very fast limousine), guests will take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time. The iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown will feature a Muppet twist while a soundtrack of iconic, rockin’ hits performed by Electric Mayhem keeps the adrenaline pumping.  Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in Summer 2026 Never miss anything happening in Orlando again, we've got you covered with the latest and best things to see and do throughout Central Florida. Following his first gallery exhibition, he was hired by Andy Warhol to shoot for Interview Magazine, launching a career that would redefine the relationship between art, photography and popular culture. In the decades since, LaChapelle has become one of the most published photographers in the world, with an anthology of books including LaChapelle Land (1996), Hotel LaChapelle (1999), Heaven to Hell (2006), Lost & Found (2017), and Good News (2024). In addition to major photographic works, the exhibition will feature the world premiere of a monumental new creation  that draws inspiration from classical fresco techniques and grand historical compositions. This expansive piece, made possible by Deodato Arte, Italy, channels LaChapelle’s fascination with scale, drama and the sublime, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience a creation that has never before been displayed publicly. LaChapelle expresed his thoughts on the news, "This exhibition at OMA is very special to me because I am revealing many new pieces that required me to use all of the experiences from my life to make. I have felt a great freedom in my work through recent years – as I continue to play with themes of popular culture while also returning to the narratives that offer a reflection of the spiritual world and metaphysical ideas." David LaChapelle - Tupac, Becoming Clean Los Angeles, 1996 In addition to photographs and premiere works, the exhibition will include hand-painted negatives, film-based media, and behind-the-scenes footage revealing the artist’s meticulous creative process. OMA’s permanent collection of American and international contemporary art – with works exploring themes of beauty, spirituality and the human experience – provides the perfect context for this exhibition. "OMA’s mission has always been to present diverse and world-class programming, and this exhibition is a perfect example of our commitment to bringing groundbreaking cultural experiences to Central Florida,” Cathryn Mattson, CEO of OMA, said. “We hope this exhibition sparks conversation and inspiration across our community.” To complement David LaChapelle: As The World Turns, OMA will offer a series of engaging programs, including a live model drawing class, fashion photography workshops and an artist lecture/book signing with LaChapelle himself.   David LaChapelle: As The World Turns will be on view at OMA from January 31, 2026, to May 3, 2026.   For more information about OMA's exhibitions and programs, please visi t www.omart.org . As a result of his success, Rife earned placement on the Forbes list for Forbes 30 under 30 in 2023 and top creators lists in 2024 and 2025.
