- Test Track at EPCOT closing on June 17 for Reimagining Project - New Concept Art Released
Walt Disney World has announced when Test Track will close at EPCOT, wth the popular attraction closed from June 17 to begin a major reimagining project. Yesterday, Thursday, April 4, 2024, Walt Disney World revealed lots of news about upcoming attractions coming to the resort, including a first look at new animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, plus we seen a first look at the model of the new "Tropical Americas" project featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones that is planned for Disney's Animal Kingdom. Plus, news emerged that Disney is in the process of filing permits for the new "Beyond Big Thunder Mountain" expansion that's coming to Magic Kingdom. Now today, Friday, April 5, Walt Disney World has revealed that Test Track at EPCOT will close on June 17 for a previously announced reimagining of the attraction. New concept art reveals how different the entrance to the attraction will look once it reopens. The concept art appears to show the reimagined entrance taking on the appearance of World of Motion, an opening day attraction at EPCOT Center in 1982 that closed in 1996 to make way for Test Track, The entrance shows the existing large canopy structure removed, with new blue and purple lighting illuminating the entrance, with a new large Test Track marquee sign is in front of the building. News of the reimagining was first revealed on Saturday, September 9, when it was announced at Destination D23. At the time it was revealed that Imagineers along with teams from Chevrolet are reaching back into history for inspiration from the original World of Motion, and bringing that spirit of optimism to the next iteration of the Test Track attraction! Join Flik for a free screening of A Bug's Life, the1998 American animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. Family Movie Night at Leu Gardens returns on Friday, April 5 2024, with the classic kids movie, A Bug's Life. Meet Flik. Independent-thinker ant. The only insect capable of throwing a kink in the food chain. After one of Flik's inventions goes terribly wrong, he embarks on a mission to help save the colony from a gang of freeloading grasshoppers in order to get back in good graces with the Queen. But when the group of "warrior bugs" that Flik recruits turns out to be a bumbling circus troupe, he must believe in himself and his inventions to save Ant Island once and for all. Whether you have never seen this movie, or you've seen it several times already, grab the kids and enjoy watching Flik lead an army of ants against a group of grasshoppers who steal their food every year! Enjoy the movie in an outdoor setting within Orlando’s most beautiful garden. Pack a dinner picnic basket and seating, oh and alcohol is permitted for the grown ups. This movie is rated G. Cost: $8.00 adult, $6.00 child (4-17 years of age), plus tax and online fees. Children under 3 years of age are required to have a free ticket. Movie tickets are available online only at leugardens.org. Gardens open at 6.00 pm., Movie time 7.30 pm. Following a successful inaugural event last year, Orlando Brunchfest returns in 2024, at a new venue. Taking place this weekend at Selfie WRLD Xtreme within The Florida Mall, the event takes place on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. The Orlando Brunchfest brings together a selection of restaurants from throughout Central Florida, all offering brunch samples costing $5 each. Entry costs $45 and includes an open bar with the beloved bottomless brunch essentials – Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and bee, all included with your ticket purchase. There will entertainment throughout the weekend, including a DJ, live music, and cash prizes every hour with Cash Cube Raffle Ticket Photographers will also be available with a variety of photo ops courtesy of Selfie WRLD Xtreme. The star-studded lineup has been revealed for the return of Country Thunder Florida to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, including Bailey Zimmerman and Jon Pardi. Save the date country music fans as Country Thunder Florida returns to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee from October 18 - 20, 2024, with organizers announcing a star-studded lineup for this year's three-day festival. Headlining this year's festival on Friday is newcomer Bailey Zimmerman, who will headline on Friday, with two number one singles under his belt with his 2021 debut album, Religiously. Walt Disney World have announced V.I.Passholder Days will return again this year to the resort, starting in May. There has been so much news from Walt Disney World today, Thursday, April 4, 2024, including a first look at new animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, plus we have seen a first look at the model of the new "Tropical Americas" project featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones that is planned for Disney's Animal Kingdom. Plus, news has emerged that Walt Disney World is in the process of filing permits for new "Beyond Big Thunder Mountain" expansion that is planned for Magic Kingdom... Now if that's not enough for you, we have great news if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, as the resort has announced the return of V.I.Passholder Days! Walt Disney World are bringing V.I.Passholder Days this summer, with the popular pass holder perk returning May 1 through June 26. The offering for Annual Passholders will include "a limited-time magnet, lounge, discounts, and more." The resort promises more details will be released soon. Last year's V.I.Passholder Days included a free Figment magnet, and treats, a limited-time pass holders lounge in EPCOT that included free snacks, and a passholder exclusive Magic Shot.
