  • First look at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Frog Musicians INSIDE Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney Word has shared a sneak peek inside the soon to open Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Get ready to clap your hands, paws or anything else you’ve got, because Walt Disney World has revealed the last batch of musicians hoping to hit the big time at Tiana’s celebration during Mardi Gras season! We’re almost there for the summer opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park, and over the past several weeks Disney has given us a sneak peek at critters who play Zydeco music, and critters who perform Rara music, and now it’s time to introduce you to critters who bring the jazzy sounds and complex rhythms of Afro-Cuban music to life in the bayou. Felipe the Frog – Deep among the cypress trees, you’ll hear band leader Felipe making musical magic on the piano! Felipe is also the proprietor of an exclusive bayou night club, where the local fireflies love to dance the night away to a musical recipe of hot rhythms and spicy melodies. He’s an old-school family guy, especially to his “family” in the band. Mayra the Frog – Have you ever seen a frog play a flower blossom like a trumpet? You will when you meet Mayra; be sure to stick around for one of her toe-tapping solos. Mayra’s the most ambitious of the four frogs and has been practicing her instrument since she was just a tadpole! Mondo the Frog – Mondo is a natural on the conga drums, which he made as a happy accident when his favorite bottle cap got stuck on his second-favorite acorn. From there, the rhythm in Mondo’s soul took over! He’s very copacetic and accepts what comes, a trait as steady and reliable as his drumbeat. Isabel the Green Tree Frog – Learning from Mondo’s example, Isabel loves getting lost in the music playing her congas. She’s the youngest member of the group, and there’s nothing she loves more than “going with the flow” and getting to play drums all night long! From Zydeco to Rara to Afro-Cuban jazz, you’ll hear all kinds of musical flavors from critters big and small around the bayou, just like you would walking the streets of the French Quarter in the Crescent City. Of course, not everyone you’ll meet in the attraction is a musician – among others are a couple of amphibious friends who love to sit back, relax and catch up on all the gossip from around the bayou. Gloria and Delores the frogs are best friends who love to observe folks as they float in logs down the bayou. Don’t be surprised if they keep their watchful eyes on you as you float by. Also, keep an eye out for Lari the armadillo. This mischievous fella, while quiet in demeanor, seems to always show up where you least expect him to. I hear he has a habit of “borrowing” things that aren’t his (although those things eventually make it into the right “paws”). Speaking of critters big and small, you’ll meet them throughout the attraction, and some really are… big, with an even bigger personality. We are now closer than ever to the opening Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this summer here in Magic Kingdom Park, are you excited to experience this new attraction replacing the classic Splash Mountain attraction at Walt Disney World? • Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) receives substantial gift of over 300 artworks

The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) has received over 300 works by artists including Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring, and David Hockney from New York City collectors Dr. James Cottrell and Mr. Joseph Lovett. The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) has announced a major gift from Dr. James Cottrell and Mr. Joseph Lovett, longtime art patrons, social activists, and Manhattan residents. The gift includes over 300 artworks from their extensive collection of downtown New York City and international artists from the past 50 years. This collection will enable the museum to share a diverse range of artistic perspectives with the community, researchers, educators, and students. “We are elated to have received this truly wonderful gift from longtime advocates and dedicated supporters,” notes Cathryn Mattson, Executive Director and CEO of the Orlando Museum of Art. “The collection will allow our curatorial and education teams to showcase underrepresented voices and foster connections with diverse communities, as well as global artists.” The Orlando Museum of Art has been a long-term steward of the Cottrell-Lovett Collection, having mounted two large-scale exhibitions: in 2004, Co-Conspirators: Artist and Collector: The Collection of James Cottrell and Joseph Lovett, and in 2016, The Conversation Continues: Highlights from the James Cottrell and Joseph Lovett Collection, as well as incorporating works in the museum’s permanent collection exhibitions over the years. These thoughtful, unique, and innovative showcases benefit both the OMA community and the Orlando art scene at large. Now, thanks to Dr. Cottrell and Mr. Lovett’s gift, the museum can build upon its strengths—a contemporary art collection featuring diverse voices—and expand its mission to stimulate creativity and intellectual curiosity by connecting people from all backgrounds and experiences with compelling art and new ideas. Chief Curator Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon emphasizes the urgent need to confront homophobia and all discrimination in today’s world. She views this donation as “not only a pivotal moment for the OMA but also as a catalyst for broader societal change, permeating through the institution's cultural reach.” Dr. Cottrell and Mr. Lovett remarked, “We could not be happier with our decision to make this significant gift to OMA and the wider Central Florida community. We are especially proud to create a lasting impact via the museum, which has long demonstrated a vested interest in sharing and supporting our commitment to disability activism, non-censorship, accessibility, and LGBTQ+ issues. We’ve long been deeply inspired by OMA’s vibrant outreach into underserved communities, creating educational programs for people of all ages.” The donation of over 300 artworks by international, diverse artists from Dr. Cottrell and Mr. Lovett will significantly expand the OMA’s existing holdings, particularly with the addition of artworks by figures from the latter half of the twentieth century. Notable artists represented in the collection include Donald Baechler, Miguel Barcelo, Barton Lidice Beneš, Kwame Brathwaite, Sophie Calle, Jean Cocteau, Noël Dolla, Roland Flexner, Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring, David Hockney, Deborah Kass, Jonathan Lasker, Robert Mapplethorpe, Malcom Morley, and Dana Schutz. The Cottrell-Lovett gift to OMA also complements their recent gift of 200 works to the prestigious New York University-affiliated Grey Art Museum. The coinciding gifts aim to create new ties and foster relationships between the OMA and The Grey by allowing the two institutions to share works and educational opportunities. This summer, a small exhibition titled Variations & Iterations: Exploring Art Series in Gifts from the Dr. James Cottrell & Mr. Joseph Lovett Collection will focus on thematic series within the collection of works already on-site at OMA. In the Spring of 2025, the Orlando Museum of Art will open its 101st year by presenting a major exhibition that will showcase a large portion of the Cottrell-Lovett gift. Additionally, the entire Cottrell-Lovett collection will be accessible on the museum's website within the next year. Finally, the gift also includes the named position of Chief Curator as Cottrell-Lovett Collection Chief Curator. OMA is a cultural leader in Central Florida and beyond – engaging, teaching, and inspiring the community through arts experiences. For more information, please visit www.omart.org. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, April 12 at 10 am at Missy-Elliott.com. One of the most significant female artists in the annals of contemporary music, Missy Elliott is making history once again in 2024 the OUT OF THIS WORLD — The Missy Elliott Experience – her first-ever headline tour, accompanied by her longtime co-stars Busta Rhymes, Ciara and special guest Timbaland. An avant-garde solo superstar, pioneering songwriter-producer, and across-the-board cultural icon, the four-time GRAMMY Award winning Elliott has attained unprecedented success, including 22 GRAMMY®nominations spanning three decades, eight MTV Video Music Awards, and sales now exceeding 30M in the U.S. alone. All of Missy’s six studio albums have each been RIAA platinum certified or better, marking her among the only female rappers ever to achieve that remarkable accomplishment. Among her countless triumphs, 2023 saw Elliott named as the first female hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, rightly declaring her “a true path breaker in a male-dominated genre.” Elliott’s most recent work, 2019’s acclaimed EP, ICONOLOGY, drew instant applause upon its surprise release, with USA Today declaring it “a master class at the school of Missy Misdemeanor Elliott.” That same year saw the iconic star making history as the first female hip-hop artist ever to receive the MTV Video Music Awards’ prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. 2019 also saw her break new ground as the first female hip-hop artist and third-ever rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In addition, Elliott became the first female rapper to receive an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music, celebrating her lasting contributions to music and popular culture. Further accolades followed in 2021, with Elliott named among the twelve inaugural inductees for the new Atlanta landmark, The Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame, and later honored with her own star on the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, Elliott’s hometown of Portsmouth, VA celebrated its favorite daughter by presenting her with the Key to the City and renaming a portion of McLean Street to “Missy Elliott Boulevard” and declaring October 17 as Missy Elliott Day. What’s more, Virginia’s Norfolk State University awarded Elliott with the Presidential Commencement Medallion and an honorary degree at their fall 2022 commencement ceremony, acknowledging her “outstanding professional achievements and extraordinary contributions to public service.” In addition to her historic induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective presented Elliott with its Recording Academy Global Impact Award, honoring her personal and professional achievements in the music industry. The 2023 GRAMMY Awards saw Elliott among the superstars celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, joining such icons as LL Cool J, Ice-T, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, and Salt-N-Pepa for a landmark performance honoring the genre’s diverse history. Additional 2023 tributes include the Black Music Honors’ “Music Innovator Icon” award as well as a special ESSENCE cover story celebrating her headline performance at the 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans. Indeed, Missy Elliott deserves all the flowers and then some. Now, with her OUT OF THIS WORLD — The Missy Elliott Experience hitting arenas across North America with Ciara, Busta Rhymes and special guest Timbaland – and new music always on the horizon – Missy Elliott continues to stand tall over pop culture as a true creative architect and revolutionary artist, her prophetic sound and vision as groundbreaking and influential as ever before. Two-time GRAMMY Award-winning multi-platinum artist Tori Kelly has announced the second leg of the Purple Skies Tour in North America in support of her just-released new album, TORI. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 11 at 10 am, with a Live Nation Presale from Wednesday, April 10 at 10 am. (Code: RIFF) Get tickets here. The much-anticipated multi-leg tour celebrates the just-released album TORI., an truly deserving self-titled moment for the superstar.  Executive produced by Jon Bellion, the diverse 15-track album is Kelly’s fifth studio album and first in partnership with Epic Records. It features an eclectic mix of guest contributions, including features from Ayra Starr, KIM CHAEWON of kpop band LE SSERAFIM, and Jon Bellion himself. It includes previously shared, fan-favorite songs like “missin u,” “shelter,” and “cut,” plus recent singles “high water” and “thing u do.” Last year, Tori Kelly began laying the groundwork for TORI. with the release of tori, a seven-track prelude to the album featuring a range of styles and sounds that showcase the true Tori. It set the stage for the most versatile and vulnerable project of the artist’s career, weaving together sonics and songwriting that represent the full picture of a woman coming into her own. TORI. warrants its all-caps, full-statement title, bringing together sounds from the late ’90s and early ’00s in creative, exciting ways that put perpetual motion at the forefront—with the throughline being Kelly’s strong, versatile voice. It is truly a full 360 vision of Tori Kelly. Period. “This album is an expression of every side of me; some of them I’ve never shown before,” says Kelly. “I decided to name it ‘TORI.’ because this music is me confidently stepping into myself as an artist and as a woman. Tori Kelly’s music has touched millions around the world, and with TORI. she opens herself up fully, bringing together big-chorus singalongs, throwback beats, and honest lyrics in a way that paints a striking, vibrant portrait. The album showcases all of the different musical sides of the artist that she has not shared with the world before, a truly definitive statement that brings all of the unique layers of her artistry together in concert.  “This feels like a self-titled moment,” she says. “I am ready to say, ‘This is who I am.’” Tori Kelly season has arrived, and it was well worth the wait. TORI. is available now.
