Get ye swagger on, scallywags!! Set a course for Tampa and play your part in a full-tilt invasion! Be prepared for fun, frolic and high adventure as the 2026 Gasparilla Pirate Fest kicks off in Tampa Bay. Land, ho! Prepare to sail for one of the biggest pirate festivals in the world as the 2026 Gasparilla Pirate Fest invades Tampa on Saturday, January 31, 2026, bringing the spirit of pirates past and glittering treasures for hundreds of thousands of visitors and locals to plunder! Yes, it's time to batten down the hatches and get ready for Tampa's signature Gasparilla event,! Each January, Tampa Bay transforms into a pirate’s playground as the legendary Gasparilla Pirate Fest takes over the city. Inspired by the lore of José Gaspar, this high-energy celebration invites locals and visitors alike to don their best pirate gear and revel in the pageantry. The festivities center around a spectacular 4.5-mile parade, featuring the dramatic arrival of the Ye Mystic Krewe and their captain as they "invade" the city. With over 100 elaborately decorated floats, marching bands, and costumed crews winding along scenic Bayshore Boulevard into the heart of downtown, it’s no wonder Gasparilla ranks as the third-largest parade in the country. From beads to brass bands, this one-of-a-kind celebration captures the daring spirit and cultural flair that makes Tampa Bay truly unforgettable. This year is the 109th Gasparilla Inv asion and Parade of the Pirates presented by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, and organisers are expecting massive crowds of well over 300,000 people to invade Tampa for this must-do event. The Jose Gasparilla II, carrying hundreds of fierce pirates, sails to Tampa in search of the Key to the City. The ship and its accompanying flotilla travel north across the Bay and into Seddon Channel before they come ashore at the Tampa Convention Center. The Invasion Named for pirate Jose Gaspar, who terrorized the coastal waters of West Florida during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Tampa's annual Gasparilla celebration begins with the Gasparilla Invasion. The notorious members of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla sail into the Tampa Convention Center, riding on a fleet of h undreds of vessels. kicking off a full schedule of pirate-themed events. “Land, ho! Set sail for Tampa!” Shouts the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar as his band of buccaneers sail across the Hillsborough Bay and return to the City of Tampa. The Invasion Route At 11:30 am, the only fully-rigged pirate ship in the world, the Jose Gasparilla, emerges at the south end of Hillsborough Bay followed by hundreds if not thousands of boats. The vibrant Gasparilla Flotilla then makes its way across Hillsborough Bay and into Seddon Channel (between Davis Island & Harbour Island) and the Gasparilla Invasion has begun! In this annual re-enactment of Tampa’s historic pirate invasion, the Gasparilla Flotilla – led by the Jose Gasparilla filled to the crow’s nest with swashbuckling pirates – creates a spectacular sight. When the Jose Gasparilla docks at the Tampa Convention Center at 1 pm, the Mayor of Tampa surrenders the Key to the City to the Captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla. The Krewe then celebrates their victory in a Parade of Pirates down Bayshore Boulevard. For the best viewing experience, arrive early and secure your spot, there are many places in downtown Tampa – waterfront hotels, places along Davis Islands and Harbour Island – to view this spectacular event!  With the Key to City assuredly in hand, the Captain and Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla mark the city’s surrender with a festive Parade of Pirates. Presented by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla annually since 1904, the parade features approximately 140 units of krewes, floats, marching bands, and social organizations. The Parade Of Pirates To celebrate their capture of the City of Tampa, the Captain and his Krewe share their wealth of glittering beads, treasures and doubloons with a lively, enthusiastic crowd all along the 4.5 mile parade route. The parade begins at 2 pm. “Make way, mateys!” shout Tampa’s original buccaneers as they wind their way down historic Bayshore Blvd. and into downtown Tampa – amidst colorful costumes and festive music. The Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates has been presented by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla annually since 1904, the parade features approximately 140 units of krewes, floats, marching bands, and social organizations. Catch the latest shows at Kia Center, House of Blues, The Plaza Live, Hard Rock Live, Addition Financial Arena, Benchmark International Arena, Yuengling Center , and more. Founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, The Black Crowes make music for the mavericks, playing rock ‘n’ roll that’s hip-swinging and heavy, dirty and debonaire, bluesy and ballsy, ecstatic and electrifying, and soulful and soaring. They don’t fall in line, and they never cared to either. Instead, they’re right at home with the outsiders, the drifters, the lost souls, the hustlers, and the hellraisers who inhabit timeless tunes like “She Talks To Angels,” “Hard To Handle,” “Wiser Time,” “Twice As Hard,” and “Black Moon Creeping.” No matter where culture went, the multiplatinum GRAMMY Award-nominated group fearlessly charted their own course, taking flight with the 5x-Platinum Shake Your Money Maker and never coming back down. Their path twisted and turned from seminal records a la the 2x-Platinum Billboard 200 #1 LP The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion and Gold-certified follow-up Amorica to a once-in-a-lifetime jaunt with Jimmy Page and accompanying Gold-certified live record: Live at the Greek. The band’s lore expanded with the chart-shaking Warpaint and Before the Frost…Until the Freeze. Another generation fell under their spell as they launched their biggest headline tour yet to celebrate Shake Your Money Maker’s 30th birthday. They lit up the next chapter with 2024’s Happiness Bastards—which garnered a GRAMMY®Award nod for Best Rock Album. Between widespread critical praise, they even picked up a 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination. Rather than rest on their laurels, Chris and Rich wrote and recorded their tenth full-length offering, A Pound of Feathers, in ten days. It’s the sound of uncompromising, urgent, and undeniable rock ‘n’ roll. It’s the sound of unrepentant creative spirits in harmony. It’s the sound of The Black Crowes.
