Universal Orlando has confirmed that a major new themed area is coming to Islands of Adventure, sadly this includes the fan-favorite Mythos Restaurant. Universal Islands of Adventure's award-winning, full-service restaurant, Mythos, that is such a fan-favorite, offering modern cuisine with Mediterranean, Asian, and American-inspired dishes will soon be no more, with Universal Orlando Resort confirming it is to close permanently. Not only is Mythos closing, but the entire land that the restaurant is located in will be permanently closing. In news that has long been speculated, Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that in the coming months, all venues and experiences within Lost Continent will permanently close in phases to make way for a new themed area. WWE Backlash will take place Saturday, May 9, at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, marking the first premium live event following WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas and features the fallout from the biggest event of the year. Backlash will feature five matches, all of which will have major implications for WWE's future direction. In the main event, Roman Reigns who won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania against CM Punk, will defend his new title for the first time against his cousin Jacob Fatu in what is sure to be an explosive match. Mayfaire by-the-Lake is a two-day fine arts festival held every Mother's Day weekend on the shores of Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland. The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art (AGB) welcomes Mayfaire by-the-Lake back to the shores of Lake Morton. This annual event in downtown Lakeland will celebrate its 54th year in 2026, taking place on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2026. Mayfaire by-the-Lake launched in 1971 as a small crafts fair on the lawn of the Lakeland Public Library, but, in the decades since, it has grown into one of Florida’s largest and most celebrated annual outdoor art festivals. Presented on Mother’s Day weekend each year, Mayfaire features more than 150 artist booths and is held on the shores of beautiful Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland. One of the oldest arts festivals in Central Florida, Mayfaire has been ranked among Sunshine Artist Magazine’s “200 Best Art Shows” for ten years in a row. Families can visit an expanded Ruthven’s Mayfaire Kids Zone at its new and larger location on the corner of East Walnut and Indiana Avenue for free children’s activities.
