  • Young Travelers at Orlando International Airport now have two more places to play before takeoff!

MCO has announced the opening of two new Family Zones! Families traveling through the airport with young travelers now have even more opportunities to play, explore, and burn off energy before takeoff. Families traveling through Orlando International Airport (MCO) now have two more places to play, explore, and mentally recharge before takeoff. MCO officially opened two new Family Zones today, one in Terminal A, and one in Terminal B, completing an initiative to strategically place Family Zones in all three of MCO’s passenger terminals. The Family Zones are designed to elevate the passenger experience with amenities that delight guests and make travel more comfortable for families. The new spaces build on the success of the Flybrary, a playful library and reading nook that opened in Terminal C in May. “It’s exciting to add two more family zones to the lineup today,” said Lance Lyttle, Chief Executive Officer for the Greater Orlando Aviation (GOAA), which operates MCO. “All three spaces represent our ongoing commitment to elevate the passenger experience with amenities that delight guests and make travel easier for families.” Level 1 of Terminal A is where families can discover a Florida-inspired soft-play environment, created with younger travelers in mind. The space features a colorful Florida themed carpet map, a Florida trivia kiosk, and a variety of soft-play elements designed to provide a safe and fun experience for MCO’s youngest passengers. Additionally, Level 3 of Terminal B is home to an interactive Family Zone, which invites children and families to step into a digital world of motion-based games that encourage movement and friendly competition. Using digital displays and cameras, the experience provides interactive games where players flap their arms to fly, or strategically sort colorful luggage, all within the safety of a digitally rendered environment. The interactive gaming area features technology installed by Central Florida-based M3D Technologies, a participant of the University of Central Florida’s Business Incubation Program. “For parents and caregivers, airport travel can bring a lot of moving pieces: bags, strollers, schedules…and the natural energy of children who are excited to board an airplane.” said Tawana Allen, Chief Customer Experience Officer for GOAA. "Our Family Zones will help meet travelers where they are. They offer a place to pause, reset, and enjoy a moment together before the next leg of their trip." The Family Zones are part of GOAA's broader strategy to enhance customer satisfaction and support the Aviation Authority's Strategic Vision Elevating MCO & ORL: The Vision Forward. • Waterparks have announced The (Almost) No Barricade Tour including a show in Orlando on Nov. 24

Waterparks have built one of modern rock's most vibrant, shapeshifting catalogs, reaching 1 billion streams and a No. 1 Alternative Album in the U.S. Waterparks are ittign the road, with the band announcing a 23 date run across the U.S. in support of their new album JINX. The (Almost) No Barricade Tour will kick on October 27 in Salt Lake City, with the Houston-based pop-rock band performing headline shows in Denver, Atlanta, Orlando, and more before wrapping up with two shows in Sacramento on December 6 and 7, 2026. JINX, the sixth studio album from Waterparks, was released on July 24 via BMG, and features Mark Hoppus of blink-182, composer Danny Elfman, Eric Nally of Foxy Shazam, and Dillon Francis. The tour will see the band perform all the tracks from the new release, with Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington, and Otto Wood coming to Orlando on November 2, taking to teh stage at House of Blues Orlando. Tickets are on sale Friday, August 14 at 10 am. https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/220065040B475823 The Latest Entertainment News from throughout Central Florida Waterparks writes anthems that define artistic eras, emotionally precise, sonically distinct, and color-coded. Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington, and Otto Wood have built one of modern rock’s most vibrant, shapeshifting catalogs, reaching 1 billion streams and a No. 1 Alternative Album in the U.S. But numbers were never the point. Waterparks measure success in less tangible ways. It’s in the connection between artist and audience, whether headlining theaters or festivals or supporting My Chemical Romance on a sold-out arena run. And it’s in the ambition of the art itself. Does what they’re making matter? Is this art, this music, consistently exciting, challenging, and overwhelmingly alive? Waterparks take creative risks without sacrificing gigantic melodic hooks. The band’s biggest streaming hits, “I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore” (2019) and “Stupid for You” (2016), are a stark contrast in texture and dynamics. JINX, the band’s sixth full-length album, opens with cinematic flair juxtaposed with emotional intimacy: “TELL ME WHY” is a story of death, purgatory, confrontation, and return. That deliberate juxtaposition runs throughout JINX, with each song asserting its purpose rather than blending into a palette. “PROWLER” is a study in isolation and reckoning. “RED GUITAR” snaps in the opposite direction, with swaggering hooks. “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL” folds cutting internal commentary into a song that thrives on tension. Even at its most aggressive or surreal, JINX remains tightly composed, its chaos less accidental than thoughtfully curated. That multiplicity has always defined Waterparks. The band lives in the tension between charm and abrasion, sincerity and irreverence, building songs that can disarm as quickly as they hit. It’s a balance that runs across all six albums thus far. Each era raises the stakes. The scope widens, the ideas sharpen, and the band keeps moving forward, faster than expectations can settle around them. The atmosphere feels like stepping into a nostalgic Halloween party from decades past, where stories are shared over themed cocktails and every corner offers a little discovery. For those with the tricky luck of dining in the diving bell, you’ve got company. A patch of Jack-O’-lanterns has taken up residence above your head, ready to flicker through the night. In the far corner of the bar, look for a card stock band of vintage Beistle-style black cat decorations watching over the room like little sentinels of Halloween past. All the Halloween decor has been added to Jock’s ever-growing collection of memorabilia from his rollicking pilot adventures. Perched high above and to the right of the bar, look for the “Bigelow’s Air Circus” banner with faded lettering and weathered canvas. Bigelow’s Air Circus is a reference to the 1991 Disney film The Rocketeer, and you may even see another reference to the film on a ‘South Seas Club’ coaster during your visit. Jock’s pet boa constrictor must be on the move, because, once again, Reggie’s cage is empty. When he returns, he’ll need to slink past a set of retro blow molds with expressive faces dancing with light. • Scream-A-Geddon gets a $2.5M makeover with new midway ahead of Spooky Season 2026

If you go down to the woods this spooky season watch out for Florida’s scariest haunted attraction... yes, Scream-A-Geddon is back! Be afraid folks, be very afraid because haunt season is fast approaching, and at Tampa's Scream-A-Geddon, spread across 60 acres in a remote corner of Pasco County, the spooky fun kicks off this years on Labor Day Weekend, with the gates to hell opening on Friday, September 4, 2026, and running select nights through November 1. Scream-A-Geddon Horror Park which is back for it's 12 year, is located at 27839 Saint Joe Rd in Dade City, and is one of the scariest horror attractions in Florida, featuring five haunted houses, a zombie paintball fight, monsters who can and will grab you, and a huge midway that's had a massive makeover for 2026, with organizers promising the most terrifying season yet. Scream-A-Geddon is only a miserable 1 hour, 30 minute drive from Orlando, and well worth the journey out in your doom buggy! The 2026 season brings a $2.5 million renovation of the park’s poular midway area. Bonzo’s Bizarre promises food, drinks, and choas, with Bonzo and his twisted troupe of clowns entertaining guests throughout the midway. Guests entering the park this year will now discover a fully paved midway winding past permanent covered pavilions, four new food trucks, new fire pits with s’mores, and an upgraded beer garden pouring local wine and craft beer. The food trucks, include Sugar & Steam serving fresh donuts, warm funnel cakes, hot cocoa, and coffee, while Fire and Fry offers flame-grilled favorites including gourmet burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken tenders, mac & cheese, footlong hot dogs, and fries. In addition to the revamped midway, guests will encounter six attractions, including Killgore’s 3D Circus, The Bloodwater Bayou, Ravenhill Asylum, and Demon’s Revenge. Killgore’s 3D Circus Killgore’s 3D Circus is the most mysterious big top show in America. Mr. Killgore parades his circus into small towns across the country during Halloween season, making a killing in the process. Disfigured clowns perform in the streets before the circus arrives, taking note of prospective “customers”. The rest of the troop arrives and its baggage wagons are unloaded, the marquee is built and playbills are thrown about town. Then the “show” begins… Mr. Killgore draws in the crowds and puts on a mesmerizing 3D spectacle, as one would expect. But as the days wear on, severed body parts start showing up on doorsteps, piercing screams are heard from the big top and the dry smell of blood permeates the town. Just when the locals start to connect the dots, Killgore’s 3D Circus disappears overnight leaving only the damp festival grounds where it once stood, saturated with carnage. Ravenhill Asylum Due to deteriorating conditions and negligent management practices, the Florida Department of Health ordered Ravenhill Asylum to close its doors on March 2nd, 1993 and find “suitable accommodations” for its remaining patients. However, chief psychiatrist Dr. Monroe feared the undiscovered, illegal “treatment” of Ravenhill Asylum’s patients would be disclosed by other institutions if they were transferred. Instead, Dr. Monroe ordered the asylum sealed with the remaining patients inside, falsified reports and chained the front doors. Alone, deranged and demented, the patients in Ravenhill Asylum were left to their own devices. Roaming the halls, they amuse themselves with new “experiments”, always looking for their next victim. Bloodwater Bayou Urban legend says to avoid the dark, murky waters of Bloodwater Bayou when the sun sets. Passersby have a nasty tendency to go missing while trying to take in the still water at twilight. Deeper legends mention a priestess who walks the backwaters with a bone headdress, a necklace made of fingers and a trail of bloody footsteps. The priestess was obsessed with the notion that the waters of the bayou must be purified by hypnotizing the innocent with Hoodoo magic and transporting them to an alternate plane of existence. While the plane looks like ours, the shadows are crawling with demons, monsters and sharp teeth waiting to rend you flesh from bone. The only means of escape for those who fall prey to the priestess falls at the feet of the shifty and powerful Papa Legba, the Speaker of the Dead. An audience with him is your only means of escaping. Only he will determine if you are worthy to return to the world of the living or if you’re better off serving the Bloodwater Bayou forever. Demon's Revenge There isn’t much known about the village of Avalon. Scribbles and notes within old journals suggest a location, but the exact whereabouts are unknown. All mentions of Avalon refer to it as an epicenter of blood magic, witchcraft and the occult. Disfigured bones and rune markings litter the woods around the supposed location of Avalon. An official ledger reveals that Avalon’s residents went missing at a brisk pace. Month after month, year after year, the disappearances grew. The final tale tells of a citizen-led uprising against witchcraft, with all those accused of sorcery being tortured to death for confessions. The tale goes on to say that the souls of those executed then opened a portal to hell unleashing demons upon the village to rip apart the townsfolk one by one. Those who stumble upon the location of the portal to hell are grasped by a dark force, thrust into an alternate reality where the souls of the townsfolk are eternally subjected to the demon’s revenge… Breach After the events of last year, the OmniLabs Corporation had to rethink their future. The decision to cease human testing and switch to “lower risk” organics eliminated the need for several safety protocols. Plants, insects, and animals were spliced and “re-engineered” to create several super species. At first, the intent was on improving agricultural output, until OmniLabs signed a lucrative contract with the Department of Defense, and started introducing human DNA. The push for immediate small-scale production of “weapons-grade organic life forms” resulted in cutting nearly every corner and safeguard, and that’s when it all went wrong. Cross-species contamination resulted in mutations across not only plants, animals and insects, but humans as well. Enter if you dare, but you may never come out! Breach is a unique interactive attraction. Visitors entering Breach will be faced with an important decision: Should you explore OmniLabs and simply watch the action? Or should you “mark” yourself to truly interact with the creatures within? Those who opt-in for a truly interactive experience may be grabbed, held back, sent into hidden rooms, removed from their group or even forced to remain... Choose wisely. Zombie Paintball Assault Each of the attractions Zombie Assault Vehicles (Old School Buses!) comes equipped with standard-issue Zombie Paintball Guns for your pleasure that dishes out pain to the zombies in the form of little balls of death, and this is so much fun!!! Tickets General admission includes unlimited access to all haunted attractions (excluding Zombie Paintball Assault), and is on sale now. Zombie Paintball Assault requires an additional ticket that may be purchased online or at the park. Both cards and cash are accepted at the park. In additio to general admission tickets, a variety of VIP options are available including VIP Fast Pass, allowing you to skip general admission lines and use the Fast Pass lane once per attraction. Preferred parking is $22 per vehicle, and standard parking is $17, and can be pre-purchased through the Scream-A-Geddon tickets page or paid for upon arrival.
