Walt Disney World is currently constructing a new resort on Bay Lake, on the former site of the River Country water park, between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Walt Disney World has unveiled the first official concept art for it's latest resort, the currently under construction, Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Located on the shore of Bay Lake, on the former site of the River Country Water Park, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is nestled between Fort Wilderness Resort and Wilderness Lodge, and is set to welcome guests at Walt Disney World in the summer of 2027. The new concept art and opening timeline of Summer 2027 was revealed today, Tuesday, April 21 on a new “ Letters from Lakeshore ” page on the Disney Parks Blog, which will keep guests updated as the new resort takes shape. In the months ahead, Disney will share more about the dining locations, recreational offerings, amenities, and distinctive design details that will bring the spirit of nature and the magic of Disney storytelling to life at Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Discover the latest  theme park news and updates  from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The new Lakeshore Lodge will feature 967 thoughtfully designed rooms, and will offer guests a variety of ways to stay, from cozy studios to spacious suites. Many rooms will offer peaceful views of Bay Lake by day and spectacular views of Magic Kingdom park fireworks by night. The resort will also debut with new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront, offering families an even closer connection to nature with ample space to relax and unwind. Walt Disney World say that the new resort will, " Celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers. Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear." The newly revealed concept art for Lakeshore Lodge borrows heavily (at least on the outside) from Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, the original resort that was scheduled to to built on the same spot. Announced back in 2018, ground clearing did begin for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but was halted, and eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Days after it was revealed that she has sold her SoCal mansion for $6.8 million, global superstar Meghan Trainor has announced that she is cancelling her upcoming The Get In Girl Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the summer tour was set to kick off in Clarkston, Michigan, on June 12, with the Grammy winning singer returning to venues across the country including Madison Square Garden in NYC, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the Kia Center here in Orland on June 30. Announcing the news on Instagram on June 16, the pop singer commented “After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour.” She apologized to fans who were looking forward to the upcoming shows, "I am so sorry to let you down."
