Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration axed as new Nighttime Spectacular confirmed!

Back in January, we brought you the news that a brand new nighttime drone show was being developed for Universal Studios Florida.

The latest news is that the current nighttime show at Universal Studios Florida, Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration has played its last performance already, as Universal Orlando Resort have confirmed that the show has officially ended its run to make way for a brand new nighttime spectacular.

Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration

The surprising announcement from Universal Orlando Resort of the closure of Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration is very sudden, and although we knew the shows days were numbered, the sudden closure seems strange that guests never got a closure date, or a last chance to see the show.

Universal have not released any details on the new show, or when it is due to debut, leaving Universal without a nighttime show at Universal Studios Florida until the new show debuts.

As we have reported before, testing is already underway on the new show, and Universal Creative have been using drones during the testing within Universal Studios Florida.

Right now it's too early to know the specifics of the show, and we will keep you updated, but the new show is further proof that Universal is definitely breathing down the necks of Disney, who are also believed to be developing its new EPCOT nighttime show to include drones also.

Definitely interesting times ahead, we will bring al the latest right here at Gotta Go Orlando.
