Excitement was soaring high as the Air Dot Show Tour - Orlando Air Show was set tosoars back to Orlando Sanford International Airport with adrenalin-pumping action in the sky and fascination static displays on the ground this weekend, but now thousands of spectators have been left disappointed as the show has been cancelled.

The Air Dot Show Tour has soared over some of the most iconic U.S. travel destinations throughout the year, with its season finale due to take place October 25 - 26 in Orlando, but organizers have been forced to cancel the event due to the ongoing Federal Government shutdown.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds were due to headline the much-anticipated event, together with the Navy F-18 Super Horney Demo, but due to the shutdown the U.S. Military Display Teams are unable to perform.

Earlier this month the Air Dot Show Tour went ahead with the Georgia Air Show without military aircraft, and organizers did explore going ahead with the Orlando Air Show without the military display teams, which would have featured the P-51 Mustang Demo, T-38 Talons, Re/Max Parachute Team, John Black's Super Decathlon, and more, but this was decided against.

Organizers are now looking to 2026, announcing that the show will take place October 3 - 4, 2026 at Orlando Sanford International Airport.

Ticket holders for this weekend’s canceled air show will receive an email with details on how to defer tickets to 2026 or request a refund.

Taking to social media, organizers commented, "Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, this weekend’s Orlando Air Show will not take place as scheduled. As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday in 2026, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next, with exciting plans on the horizon and even more to come in the months ahead. 2025 ticket holders will receive an email with details on how to defer tickets to 2026 or request a refund. Thank you for being part of our incredible aviation community, the best is yet to come!"
