Leu Gardens invite you to experience an extraordinary exhibit like no other, connecting the world of nature and art. Origami is the Japanese word for “folding paper,” making something out of nothing, taking a square piece of paper and folding it to create a beautiful object. ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN takes the folded object and transforms it into colossal metal sculpture that evokes wonder and imagination. Over 20 pieces from the original folds to art pieces will sure to captivate all ages. Included with garden admission.

The City of Orlando proudly presents Mary Ann Carroll: Queen of the Highway, a retrospective exhibition celebrating the art and life of Mary Ann Carroll (b. 1940-d. 2019), the only female artist in Florida's renowned Highwaymen group of artists. The Highwaymen were a group of 26 African American artists working in Florida during the mid-20th century who created and sold vibrant landscape paintings, often door-to-door, overcoming racial and economic barriers to achieve recognition.

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is hosting boatloads of fun all month long with the return of Meet a Mermaid on select dates in May. This interactive experience includes underwater dive shows, meet-and-greets, and a brand-new educational adventure designed to teach families about marine life and conservation. From May 2 to 26, guests can catch “real-life” mermaids diving into SEA LIFE Orlando’s 360-degree ocean tunnel every Friday through Sunday, plus Memorial Day. Dr. James Cottrell, an esteemed anesthesiologist and professor, and Joseph Lovett, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, have been collecting art for over forty years. Today, their collection numbers more than 500 works encompassing a wide array of paintings, prints, photography, and sculpture that comprise a broad of spectrum of styles, including abstraction, representation and conceptual art. See the collection at Orlando Museum of Art.OMA and the first installment of the transformational gift.

On the occasion of the recent gift of 314 artworks from Dr Cottrell and Mr. Lovett’s Collection, Orlando Museum of Art will be presenting a small-scale exhibition of works by Edouard Prulhière. This exhibition will be concurrent to a major exhibition in January featuring the majority of gifts received from the Cottrell-Lovett Collection.

The Casselberry Arts Center presents, in collaboration with the University of Central Florida, an exhibition specifically for the students in the UCF SVAD MFA program. The Art Show is the concept of an exhibition which invites the participants to think beyond their studio practice and outside their preconceived notions of an art exhibition in order to gain a new understanding of the limitations and successes of the exhibition format. This exhibition offers the students valuable experience outside of the University in a professional gallery space while garnering recognition from the Central Florida community. As part of the programming for The Art Show the students will participate in a public discussion touching on topics such as the exhibition format, the value of art, and implications of competition within the world of art.

For ten years, Repticon has been bringing great shows to Central Florida Fairground in Orlando. One of Repticon’s original series of shows, the show has continued to grow until it is now one of the premiere shows in the industry and THE show to go to in Orlando.
